33 weeks and still no name feels like the one. Big sister is Annie. These are the names we like….any comments/ other suggestions?

Edwin ( would probably be called Ted) - I’m not a massive fan but DH likes it
Bertie (Albert?) - I like Bertie but not in love with Albert
Artie (Arthur)

Edwin is great but not keen on Ted, Red is cool though
Bertie and Artie are both awful

Annie and ...

resm · 30/06/2022 20:59

Annie & Artie are a bit too similar.

I prefer Edward or even Edmund at a stretch to Edwin, sorry. Edwin just seems like a big name for a child to wear.

How about Isaac or Eugene?

I need to keep thinking don’t I….

Picking a name is such a big responsibility :(

Bertie is absolutely terrible.

Eek3under3 · 30/06/2022 21:05

I'm going to blame hormones….I thought Bertie was cute!

Alf/Alfie - Alfred
Bertie - Bertrum/Bertrand
Ned - Edwin/Edward
Ant - Anthony

That's the thing... It's "cute." For a dog. You're naming a human being who will spend the vast majority of their life as an adult man, not a little boy.

Those names were all characters on Thomas the Tank engine weren't they?

RedLobsterRum · 30/06/2022 21:16

Why would you call Edwin Ted? If you like Ted as a name, call him Ted. Edwin is a much nicer though.

Mumofgirls2017 · 30/06/2022 21:18

I like Albert and Arthur if you’re ok with repeated initials. Otherwise suggest

edgar
edmund
frederick
francis
ernest
arnold
alfred
herbert
vincent
victor
leonard
charles
douglas
wilfred
walter
sidney

(all lend well to nicknames)

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/06/2022 21:18

I quite like Arthur nn Artie, but do you really want Annie and Artie?

Bertie is sweet (arguably sickly sweet) but not for a grown up so he’d have to a Albert or something

Ernest nn Ernie
Alexander or Alistair nn Sandy or Al
Francis nn Frankie
Barnaby / Barnabas nn Barney
Tobias nn Toby or just Toby
Nicholas or Dominic nn Nicky
Christopher nn Christy or Kit
Charles nn Charlie or Cal
Robert nn Bobby, Robbie or Robin
Patrick nn Paddy or Patchy
Laurence nn Laurie or Larry
Leonard nn Lenny
John or Jonathan nn Jonty / Johnny

Micheal nn Mikey
Timothy nn Tim
James nn Jim / Jimmy / Jem / Jamie
Benjamin or Benedict nn Benjy or Benny
Henry nn Harry or Hal
Casper or Cassian nn Cass
Elijah nn Eli
Joseph nn Joe

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/06/2022 21:19

Oh - Douglas nn Dougie
and Stanley nn Stan

Eek3under3 · 30/06/2022 21:19

Point taken @Aquamarine1029 .

thanks @Mumofgirls2017 for the suggestions! Not sure any are the one…this is so hard!

bloominglovelyorange · 30/06/2022 21:25

vinnie? Vincent
laurie? Laurence
