Which do you prefer for girls’ choices? Middle name will be Jean.

I love Eliza but I'd keep it as that why would you put Elizabeth on the birth cert 🤷🏻‍♀️

Seems a bit of a royal name list at the moment. Just to note there might be lots of Elizabeths born jubilee year. I don't love the name Charlotte or its shortenings, so I probably prefer Eliza but again feels like the shortening of choice for Elizabeth at the moment. I also like Beth and Bethan.

I love Charlotte but there are SO many

Eliza is sweet a bit babyish for when she grows up, so I’d go for Elizabeth Jean nn Eliza.

One of my granddaughters is ElYza

Charlotte

KirstenBlest · 30/06/2022 20:55

@RollOnWinter , how do they say it?

Spidey66 · 30/06/2022 20:58

Both lovely but prefer Elizabeth as a full name. Both are great for having a range of nicknames.

Panamii · 30/06/2022 21:00

Elizabeth Jean by miles. Elizabeth has so many different nickname options.

Surprisedat42 · 01/07/2022 06:58

I really like Elizabeth as well and it has family connections. There’s no reason we can’t still call her Eliza and if she doesn’t want Eliza when she’s older, she’s got other options. Elizabeth has always been a classic, but never super popular, so I can’t see there being 5 in her class.

Elizabeth and Charlotte are both good names, but I would pick Elizabeth Jean.

Eliza is a great nickname. The only Eliza I know is an Elizabeth on her birth certificate (and in formal situations etc).

HuntingoftheSnark · 01/07/2022 08:04

Definitely Eliza.

Mumofgirls2017 · 01/07/2022 08:15

Eliza!

Underhisi · 01/07/2022 08:50

I prefer Elizabeth but Eliza is a name in its own right and has been used as a full name for at least the last couple of hundred years. Lots of Elizas on birth certificate in my family tree.

bridgetreilly · 01/07/2022 11:18

Eliza Jean. Lovely.

comealongponds · 01/07/2022 13:57

both are lovely but I prefer Charlotte

Eliza is not babyish. Eliza Manningham (who is actually Elizabeth) was hardly doing a babyish job.
