Short list:

Toby
Nathan
Timothy
Logan
Matthew
Owen
Idris

Anything else lovely we’ve obviously missed? Scottish/English Heritage but living in Wales. One syllable last name.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Theodore
Aidan
Daniel
James
Andrew

Matthew is my favourite from your list

I also really like Timothy and think it's very unusual on a baby these days. I imagine a cute little toddler Timothy then Tim as he ages

I like Idris but not as much

Emrys is an obvious similar choice. I'll also suggest Ewan

I really dislike Logan and Owen.

I'm not a huge fan of Nathan but love Nathaniel

KirstenBlest · 29/06/2022 19:11

Toby - like
Nathan - not keen
Timothy - like
Logan - surname. No
Matthew - nice, safe, will be Matt
Owen - fine
Idris - too Elba

GoldenSpiral · 29/06/2022 20:09

Toby - I'm not a fan, it seems more like a dog's name to me

Nathan - I really like Nathan

Timothy - I don't mind it

Logan - It's quite a cool name, but not one I would choose

Matthew - I like Matthew, not so sure on Matt. It's almost inevitable that his friends will call him Matt..

Owen - No

Idris - No

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 29/06/2022 21:10

Love Nathan!

Owen is nice.

I like Euan and Niall too.

milkmilkeverywhere · 29/06/2022 21:19

Owen & Timothy are nice

Wyn?

AliBaliBears · 29/06/2022 21:20

Toby - a dog's name to me. A bit wet.
Nathan - like this a lot
Timothy - like Tim more than Timothy.
Logan - not keen
Matthew - love this, one of my favourites
Owen - another of my favourites
Idris - like it

Other ideas:
Fraser

Nairn
Elis
Evan
Struan
Euan
Rhodri
Ruairidh
Fergus
Angus
Hamish

AliBaliBears · 29/06/2022 21:21

Also Andrew and Alasdair!

alittleadvicepls · 29/06/2022 21:30

Owen can also become Owain (Welsh spelling).
I also really like Llywelyn.

Aspidistra1 · 29/06/2022 22:22

Thanks, love some of the extra suggestions but mostly already have uncles with these names!

Titsflyingsouth · 29/06/2022 22:32

I have an Owen so am completely biased. Grin

Second-choice would be Matthew.

LittleFilly · 30/06/2022 03:27

Of your choices, I like Timothy, Owen or Logan.

Otherwise, how about Rhodri, Euan / Ewan, Owain, Callum, Ellis, Elliott, Ioan, Graeme, Lucas?

Aquamarine1029 · 30/06/2022 03:31

Austin
Vaughn

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/06/2022 04:10

Matthew is great.

Luxa · 30/06/2022 12:51

Felix
Niall
Charles
Leo
Rafferty
Seth

BertieBotts · 30/06/2022 12:57

I love Toby and Idris. Also like the spelling Tobi (Tobias)

You might look at Alexander and Arwyn.

babyjellyfish · 30/06/2022 13:39

I like Matthew the best, followed by Owen.

Rainbowbaby13 · 30/06/2022 17:18

We had Toby and Owen on our list but went with Dexter I also like Logan from your list

midsomermurderess · 30/06/2022 18:42

Matthew is by far my favourite.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/06/2022 20:30

Love Idris

Also Tobias and Nathaniel (more than Toby or Nathan)

Timothy too early to revive, and a bit wet TBH. Matthew ok but a bit dull. Owen - meh, Owain is better. Logan - thuggish.

Gawain is a Welsh boys name I love
Also Aneurin and Ivor

Alistair, Kester, Lorne, Angus, Gillies, Innes , Struan, Lachlan from Scotland

Patrick, Guy, Laurence also

KirstenBlest · 30/06/2022 20:53

I prefer Owain to Owen, but be warned, Welsh people sometimes say it as Owen, and English people don't get it right.
It's Ow-ine not O-wine, the Ow bit is short but is the stressed syllable

Ifor is lovely but Ivor isn't

wingingit33 · 30/06/2022 20:56

I really dislike Logan. It's a surname.

Matthew is nice.

bloominglovelyorange · 30/06/2022 21:27

I like Nathan the best
