Girls name options

Really struggling to pick a name for my daughter, I prefer shorter names which are quite unique but not completely unheard of.

My current short list is

Would really appreciate any opinions on my list or any other suggestions …

If you want unusual don't go for Thea or Clara as there are loads about.

I also like Lyra, I love the His Darkest Material books I was slightly put off when Ed Sheeran names his DD that.

I think Cassia is by far the nicest on your list. I do also quite like Lyra and Tessa but am not hugely keen on the others on the list.

I like Thea a lot. It’s not unique but unless you make a name up it won’t be unique anyway! And it’s very pretty. Lyra, Clara & Tessa are all nice too, so those would be my favourites. I liked Lyra but wasn’t keen on the sequel stories and how she’s portrayed in them, so that would probably put me off that name. Plus it’s very close to Lyla/Lilah which is popular.

Embarrassed to ask but what is the sound? I’ve heard it said CASS EE AH but I’ve also read it should be said Casha. Is it like Lucia where it can be said more than one way?

Tessa and Cassia are my favs! Tessa just pops it since Cassia’s a bit more elaborate, but they’re honestly both stunning. Tess is a cute nn too! V sporty, but romantic too.

We would pronounce it cass ee ah. I think it sounds lovely but not sure if people would think it’s made up …
