Hi everyone,

Myself and partner are really struggling to agree on baby names. I like the idea of a formal name and shortening it instead of her just having a nickname as her first name. Her middle name has to incorporate Rose (other half mums name) but thinking of different variations of Rose. Let me know your thoughts of names below!!

Millie
Emilia (NN Millie)
Gracie
Lilah
Lila (shortening to Lils or Lil?)
Camille (Millie) but don't think my partner likes Camille
Elodie (Elle or are there other nicknames?)
Emili (Millie)
Amalie (Millie)

Then middle names either Rose, Primrose, Rosetta or Rosy.

Any other recommendations please do send across! We agree on Millie the most but what do you prefer out of the list?

Thank you! xx

You defo like Millie so I prefer Emilia / Amelia.

Emilia Rose is a very nice name.

yikesanotherbooboo · 27/06/2022 11:17

Millicent or Camilla for Milly
Emily can be milly
Lilian for Lill
Graces are usually nn Gracie

Lots of Rose names although as a middle name Rose is fine on its own and lots of the apse names are usually pronounced Roz
Rosemary
Rosa
If you are naming her for a relative I would use the original name.

Irishfarmer · 27/06/2022 11:47

I like your Millie names. But is Emili pronounced Emily? I would just spell it Emily.

I like Elodie too.

Melody - Mel

I think Rose goes well as a middle name and doesn't need to be changed. I wouldn't if it is for MIL

FirstFallopians · 27/06/2022 12:02

Roisin means Little Rose which would be nice given she’s named after someone.

HappyGoDucky · 27/06/2022 12:13

How about-

Rosalia -Ro-sah-lee-ah? Could be shortened to Rose/Rosa/Lia

Not keen on any of your names, sorry! As PPs have said you obviously like Millie, Emilias are normally Em or Mimi. Millicent?

timoteigirl · 27/06/2022 12:19

I like your middle names better than the first name suggestions apart from Camille. What about Rosanna? Rosalie? Rosamund as the first name.

Also you seem to spend lots of time thinking of nicknames, don't they come from her friends when she is older and whatever parents use as nickname could be forgotten anyway?

Mumofgirls2017 · 27/06/2022 21:43

elodie Nn edie!

rosesarepinkvioletsarepurple · 27/06/2022 21:48

All of these names are common and unoriginal, especially with the middle names...

Hadtocomment · 27/06/2022 23:17

It's clear you like Milly or Millie so maybe working backwards from there?

Amelia does seem to be around a lot at the moment and always on this board as well. Emilia is very similar and seemed to be the popular version before the A version took over.

I prefer Camille to Camilla.

But what about just shorter formal names that you can use with Millie like Mila or Milla? I think those are both quite nice.

Has anyone mentioned Romilly yet?

moiraandthebebe · 27/06/2022 23:28

Emilia (Mia, Em, Emmy, Millie) with Rosalie as a middle name.

Luredbyapomegranate · 28/06/2022 00:32

Emilia Rose nn Millie

It might not be original but it’s very nice

Emilia Rosanna if you want something less popular

daisypond · 28/06/2022 07:20

I prefer Camille out of those, though I also like Emilia. Elodie is OK. Gracie is too twee. I find Lila and Lilah bland. Emili looks misspelled. Emily? I’ve never heard of Amalie either. Amelie? Personally, I think Millie is bland too, but it’s OK as a short form for something more substantial. Camilla is a good, strong name. I like it more than Camille. Camilla Rose.
