Down to two names!

We both love both of the names but dh strongly favours one, and I strongly favour the other 😁
Which do you prefer, and why? (I won't say which is my favourite!)
Shirley or Susan
Middle name will be Jean

Other names that we seriously considered, but we're discarded are Barbara, Gwen, Maureen, Moira and Roberta.
Opinions please (so I can report back to dh 😁)

Maureen and Moira are feckin atrocious.

25 years ago, Olive, Edith, Iris, Margot and Ruby sounded ridiculous names for babies. Now I know at least one of each of each.

Susan Jean is lovely. Little Susie J! The rest are abysmal and I don't usually think that about names. Sorry!

To be fair @Cuckoo48 none of those names belong to a child killer like Moira.

If you are genuine please go for Susan - Susie is a lovely nickname. Shirley belongs with old aunts that rub your face with spit and a hanky. Although that may just be my trauma!

Dd teen goes to school with a Jean as first name. She is very Cool
