We have 2yo DS Finley - he gets Finn all the time! We only call him Finley if for example he’s throwing his dinner across the room or chasing the dog in attempt to grab it’s tail (🤣🤦🏻‍♀️)

Having another boy in September we like Max

however I don’t feel Finley and Max go well? So I thought we call him Maxwell on birth certificate and that is his name but his nickname Max

so it’d be Finn and Max, Finley and Maxwell

Thoughts?

Finn and Max and Finley and Max are both really nice,
If you don't plan on using Maxwell day to day, I would just call him Max
Max is really nice as a name on its own

Finn & Max Lovely.

Not convinced about Maxwell, but like you wouldn't want just Max on B/C

what else might it be shortened from?,

JuneJubilee · 25/06/2022 11:46

Max is typically used as a shortened name for Maxwell, Maximus, Maximilian, Maxim or Maximo, but it has also gained popularity as a stand-alone first name, mostly for boys

I think Maxwell is probably the best out of the options though. Unless you go for William known as Max 😂

I think they sound great together

I don’t like Maxwell at all. Just Max is fine.

custardbear · 25/06/2022 12:47

Maxwell is a coffee ... max or maxim much better

FayCarew · 25/06/2022 13:14

Just Max is fine, Maxwell is too instant coffee, Maximus is too gluteus. Maximilian too long. Maxbreader might be an option
