Isaiah is a bugger to spell for a little lad.

toastofthetown · 20/06/2022 10:28

Moses. I love Moses, but as neither me or my partner are religious I wouldn’t use it for that reason.

emmathedilemma · 20/06/2022 10:40

Jonah

xmasaries · 20/06/2022 10:43

Jonah and Moses I love.

I do like the other two as well, but those are my preference.

FayCarew · 20/06/2022 10:45

I'm not mad keen on any of them, but in order of preference:
Amos, Moses, Jonah, Isaiah

Isaiah is too long and sound whiny
Jonah is a bit dull, John is much nicer
Moses is ok shortened to Moss
Amos is ok but a bit too much like Amy

Littlebirdyouaresosweet · 20/06/2022 10:47

What about Gabriel?
I knew a Moses. His dps used his middle name pretty soon after..
Love Jonah. .

Luxa · 20/06/2022 10:51

I like Isaiah and Amos best.

Moses is too buzzy (Mo Zizz) and Jonah is OK but I prefer the first two.

whenwillthemadnessend · 20/06/2022 10:52

Love Jonah

ChagSameachDoreen · 20/06/2022 11:39

They're all awful. Sounds like an evangelical family from Alabama.

IsThePopeCatholic · 20/06/2022 12:14

Love Jonah and Isaiah.

RuthW · 20/06/2022 12:15

Amos is the best

HotHeatDays · 20/06/2022 12:17

Amos reminds me of Emmerdale farm

mrsfoof · 20/06/2022 12:53

I like Isaiah but can guarantee it will get tiresome to have to correct people's spelling.
Amos has the potential to be called Anus by some nasty so-and-sos as he grows up.
Moses seems a bit too religious (unless you are). I don't know why - Noah, Isaac, Joseph are all acceptable but Moses seems a step too far.

So that leaves Jonah. I like that.

Inthesameboatatmo · 20/06/2022 13:20

I like Isaiah, Jonah makes me think of someone who's a jinx.

BryanAdamsLeftAnkle · 20/06/2022 13:28

What about Elijah?

Kastri · 20/06/2022 13:30

How about Adam or Joshua?

SummaLuvin · 20/06/2022 13:31

Amos is a favourite of mine, and the one from you list I would actually use. Don't have a why beyond liking the way it sounds.

Isaiah is my favourite in a vacuum, however, it too religious, like Moses, for me to feel comfortable using as a part of a non-religious couple.

Jonah I find quite unappealing.

fireandpaint · 20/06/2022 13:35

Jonah - love both the sound and the meaning: dove. Love the bible story too. Not really keen on the others

theginge · 20/06/2022 13:55

I have a Jonah and love it! He's the only one in his school but it still feels fairly 'normal'. We occasionally meet another Jonah when out and about and think it always sounds nice but it's not overly used like Joshua or Noah.

Chaoslatte · 20/06/2022 14:18

Jonah! I love that name and it’s so underused. I’ve never met one yet it’s so easy to spell and pronounce.
Moses I think is a bit too strongly religious (and I am religious). Isaiah is hard to spell and I think Amos could be mispronounced by people who were unfamiliar with it although it’s my second favourite of the four. Downside is no good nickname.

DramaAlpaca · 20/06/2022 15:58

They are all too religious sounding for me.

I dislike Jonah the least.

Vampirethriller · 20/06/2022 16:14

Amos is lovely.

ParanoidGynodroid · 20/06/2022 16:37

Ah, I love a bit of an old testament vibe!

My favourite is Isaiah, then Jonah, Amos and Moses in that order.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 20/06/2022 17:20

Amos
Silas
Seth

SirenSays · 20/06/2022 17:24

Too religious for me. Though Silas is lovely. I think Jonah is probably the best up there and even then can't hear it without thinking of Jonah Hill
