Which name have more global appeal and a nice ring to it when pronounced? Write least to most preferred...

Chase: Hunter or pursue

Ace: Unity, one who excels, the highest rank

Eden: Place of Paradise, Delightful

Hunter: one who hunts, pursuer

I'm confused. I see three boys' names, Chase, Ace and Hunter, and one girls' name (Eden) so I'm not sure what you're asking.

FWIW, IMO all the boys' names are awful, with Ace being the least worst. Hunter is particularly unpleasant. Are you in the US? Those names are very American in style and responses will be based on this being a UK website.

Eden for a girl is OK if you must, but not to my taste at all.

Alfixnm · 30/05/2022 03:03

If it's for a boy, then Eden is my least favourite, as to me it sounds like a girl's name.
Ace and Chase are OK but I don't love them. Ace reminds me of cards/gambling which is negative.
Hunter is the best of these for me.

Marty13 · 30/05/2022 03:10

Eden is a unisex name and in fact it's my favourite in the list. I think it travels better than the other ones. You said global appeal, I think Hunter Chase and Ace would sound pretty bad in most languages/accents outside of english-speaking countries.

RegalChase · 30/05/2022 04:34

Thanks for Chiming in guys. What about Lavish... It Means Lord of love, cute and luxurious. Rich. And I'm asking in general for all these names. Unisex pretty much

Hmm, I don't like any of these, sorry. Lavish is probably the worst - I've never heard of this as a name (it's just a common word to me).

Chase and Hunter are a bit violent.

Eden is too religious to me.

If forced to choose, I'd go for Ace, but it is more of a nickname to me.

Totally agree

ahwobabob · 30/05/2022 07:33

Weren't these all names of Gladiators on the 90's Tv show?

KirstenBlest · 30/05/2022 08:14

Chase: Hunter or pursue - dreadful
Ace: Unity, one who excels, the highest rank - dreadful, Asa is nice
Eden: Place of Paradise, Delightful - dreadful and unisex
Hunter: one who hunts, pursuer - best of a bad bunch

ChagSameachDoreen · 30/05/2022 08:21

These are all absolutely dreadful names. They sound like online scammers.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 30/05/2022 09:48

Chase and Hunter are okay for a male child, Eden is okay for a female child (although I don't love the original sin connotations). I can just about see Hunter on a girl. Ace and Lavish I really really dislike.

If you like names that are also qualities, you could go for the slightly more traditional Joy, Grace?

AdaColeman · 30/05/2022 09:59

Heaven help Ace if he turns out to be a bit of a duffer! Wink
As for Lavish, too close to Lascivious for me, and nickname a bit doubtful too. Wink

TranquilAirOfMorning · 30/05/2022 14:04

The only Eden I know is a man (Jewish)

SpaceJamtart · 30/05/2022 16:16

I quite like Eden, on a girl.
Ace is nice enough but that along with Chase and Hunter just sound like Paw Patrol characters

Sorry but Lavish is gross

RegalChase · 30/05/2022 21:46

Thanks for your input. I'll make a female name poll and add Eden there instead.🙂

@ahwobabob 🤣🤣...loved that show. They don't make em like that anymore.
I love Eden, but for a girl.
I don't like the others.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/05/2022 22:42

I thought they were for a fantasy novel you were writing.

In the nicest possible way, they are all terrible, except Eden which is ok for a girl.

I think you might do well to look at literature/mythology eg Atticus, Odin, Griffin, Blaise, Gawain, Lysander, Hector, Jupiter, Solomon, Orion, Orpheus, Xerxes, Merlin

RegalChase · 30/05/2022 22:51

Thanks for your perspective.👍🙂

Irishfarmer · 31/05/2022 16:45

Eden is ok.

Chase - USA 'frat' boy
Ace - Ventura pet detective
Hunter - not awful, not great either.
Lavish - this is terrible

RegalChase · 08/06/2022 14:47

Lol wow
