Deciding on a name for dd. Surname is one syllable. (‘Tess’ doesn’t flow very well unfortunately.)

Tessa. Lovely name.

ofwarren · 23/05/2022 07:41

Celia

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 23/05/2022 07:42

Celia!

Or Cecilia which is my No1 favourite. Tessa is ok but not as pretty and classic to me.

KangarooKenny · 23/05/2022 08:17

Celia.
Tessa is too much like Tesla.

DuchesOfSausage · 23/05/2022 08:18

I like Tess but not so keen on Tessa, so Celia

Have you considered Delia?

Strugglingtodomybest · 23/05/2022 08:29

Tessa

30mph · 23/05/2022 08:30

Celia. Tessa is my sister's dog.

Blueberrywitch · 23/05/2022 08:30

Isn’t it meant to be Cecilia? Which I love. Then nn can be Celia

outshinethemorningsun · 23/05/2022 08:32

tessa! Celia and Celia remind me of celiac disease or however it is spelt

Whatidisthissummer · 23/05/2022 08:38

Celia

numberthirtytwowindsorgardens · 23/05/2022 09:44

If she's Tessa, she'll almost certainly become a Tess. (I have one.) If that makes a difference?

VintageVest · 23/05/2022 09:47

Both lovely names, either would be great. My personal preference would be Tessa I think, but honestly they are both really nice.

Ariela · 23/05/2022 10:02

Delilah rather than Delia?
Tessa gets shortened to Tess all the time. Celia doesn't tend to be shortened IME (know 2 Tessa and 1 Celia)

SirenSays · 23/05/2022 10:11

Celia is better. Tess is a Yorkshire terrier

Whatidisthissummer · 23/05/2022 11:24

thanks all for thoughts - v helpful

DuchesOfSausage · 23/05/2022 11:35

Definitely not Delilah, it's awful.

Firebird83 · 23/05/2022 17:17

Celia

Hinglesair · 23/05/2022 17:24

My DD has a Celie as a friend

Whatidisthissummer · 23/05/2022 17:42

Tessa. But would probably go for Esther on the birth cert.

peaceinourtime · 24/05/2022 00:07

Tessa as it has lots of nickname/shorting potential.

Cloud16 · 24/05/2022 00:38

Tessa because I met a really bloody cool Tessa once.

Celia sounds a bit medical.
