It is pretty, although I prefer the more usual spellings Safiya/Safiyah.

I read it in a book and it seemed a bit more suited to my ethnicity. DH hates it so that's the end of that!

Love it, and was on my list. I would assume you had an Arabic connection, but I think it's fine to use if you don't.
