Don’t like any girls names!

I have 4 DS’s with traditional names (think bible type or old English names). We’ve just found out our 5th baby will be a girl! Aside from being immensely shocked, I don’t like any girls names! I already had George Joseph picked for a boy, which I was certain it was!

I do like Millie but my DS’s have a cousin with the name. Mollie is nice but again I have friends with a Mollie. I quite like Maisie but wonder if it’s a bit twee? I like more traditional names - nothing wild - but I’ve trawled various baby names websites and I can’t find anything! Please help!

I would also suggest Georgina Josephine. You can call her George. Loads of Georgina’s go by George.

Exactly this!

Thank you for all your suggestions!

I do really like Lottie, but apparently my DH's aunt once had a dog called Lottie so that's out 🙄

I love Maddison/Maddie, unfortunately our surname is very similar to Maddie that went missing, so it just wouldn't be right.

As much as I love George for a boy, I'm not keen on the female versions.

Funnily a few of you have suggested my own, very traditional, British name. I absolutely HATE it 🤣

I like Lucy and Rebecca and a couple of the others, so have added them to the maybe list. Plus a couple of others are definitely food for though.

Thank you all so much

Have you asked your boys? Oldest DD suggested a name for youngest DD that I liked and kept coming back to throughout my pregnancy and eventually settled on it. It’s lovely that oldest DD had a say in naming her sister.

Georgiana is a nice twist on Georgina.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/05/2022 23:30

If your boys have trad names would you not want something similar? If I were your daughter I'd be a bit pissed off if all my brothers had solid names and I got Lottie or Mollie as a full name..

Anna, Susannah, Shoshana, Elizabeth, Elsbeth, Naomi, Frances, Francesca, Eleanor, Helena, Julia, Louisa, Serena, Claudia, Jessica, Miranda, Abigail, Adela, Beatrice, Meredith, Marianne, Caroline, Joanna, Flora, Lois, Katharine, Jocelyn, Sarah, Isabel, Laura, Cecilia, Honor, Victoria, Rachel, Juliet, Charlotte, Stella, Emma, Verity, Constance, Edith, Hannah, Sophie, Marina, Jennifer, Clio, Jane, Grace, Philippa, Oona, Phoebe, Eloise, Adelaide... there are a lot of girls names..

Mr daughter loves her middle name so much she prefers it to her first name. It is very different and I don’t know of anyone with it, only in the movie Silence of the Lambs:-

Clarice
