Liliana is nicer imo.

Elizabeth is a true classic and I predict it will have a surge in popularity soon for obvious reasons.

Elizabeth.
no contest.
a classic, stood the test of time.
the other sounds flakey.

Greensleeves · 18/05/2022 17:31

Elizabeth is nicer, Liliana is a bit frou-frou for me. Lilia is better.

Bear in mind if you use Elizabeth and the Queen carks it this year, people will assume for evermore that you named your DD as a tribute.

ANUsernam · 18/05/2022 17:32

Elizabeth

Deadringer · 18/05/2022 17:35

Liliana is awful. Elizabeth is fine and has lots of great potential short versions.

toastofthetown · 18/05/2022 17:36

Elizabeth. Liliana just blends into a sea of vowel heavy, liquid consonant names so feels really quite dull to me. And the world doesn’t need another Lily.

I can’t see Elizabeth having a major popularity surge when the queen dies. I think Charlotte is an example of what might happen to the name. Like Charlotte was before Kate and William’s daughter, Elizabeth is currently decreasing in popularity and while it might pick up somewhat as Charlotte did, I seriously doubt it will be significant. It just sounds too different to the names which are popular right now.

Elizabeth. I love it. Classic, dignified, and so many possible shortenings for your dd to choose from.

WhoppingBigBackside · 18/05/2022 17:42

Elizabeth.
I don't like Liliana at all

PortalooSunset · 18/05/2022 17:44

Elizabeth.

DogsAndGin · 18/05/2022 18:10

Elizabeth by a mile.

RuthW · 18/05/2022 18:14

Love both as long as an arna at the end and not anna.

Elizabeth is one of my favourite names though.

FloraGreysteel · 18/05/2022 18:15

Liliana is awful.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 18/05/2022 18:17

Liliana. Beautiful name and GoT has been over long enough for people not to make that connection.

Elizabeth is a bit dusty now. Also with the cost of living rising and the obvious gaps in wealth I think any ‘royal’ names are about to become unpopular.

Just my opinion.

FloraGreysteel · 18/05/2022 18:15

Liliana is awful.

i agree. Lily is ok but the 'arna' ruins it

AnnaSW1 · 18/05/2022 18:40

Liliana is lovely

Amdone123 · 18/05/2022 18:41

Elizabeth, definitely.
I hate Lily, Lilli, all them.

DramaAlpaca · 18/05/2022 19:51

Elizabeth by a country mile

Firebird83 · 18/05/2022 22:31

Elizabeth, but I’m biased.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 18/05/2022 22:36

Elizabeth, again for obvious reasons!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/05/2022 22:40

Elizabeth. It's such a timeless classic with some amazing namesakes. If you'd said Lilia instead I might have been tempted as I love a Latin style name, but somehow Liliana sounds just that bit more "frilly" to me.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/05/2022 23:09

Elizabeth

Liliana is v Disney princess

Drew31 · 18/05/2022 23:45

Definitely Elizabeth! Liliana is far too fussy, and the inevitable shortened form Lily is too popular.
