What do you think, is Eunice ready for a come back?

I really quite like it

It’s OK, but it’s the name of a character on Animal Crossing and I’d forever associate it with that. Like on the thread about the name Reggie - it's the name of my neighbours dog so I couldn’t separate it from that.

Classica · 06/05/2022 21:28

Nooooooooooooo.

Eunice goes to mass every day just so she can say 'I didn't see you at mass this morning, Mary', and she frowns furiously at people doing filthy things like holding hands in public.

I mean go for it if you love it.

(but noooooooooooooooooooo)

ofwarren · 06/05/2022 21:32

I like it

superram · 06/05/2022 21:35

Revival?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/05/2022 21:41

I don't think it's ever really be in to be "revived". You might start a trend though if you do go with it.

Summerholidayorcovidagain · 06/05/2022 21:44

Leave it to decompose.. No revival ever necessary..

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/05/2022 21:46

I'm just relieved you aren't planning to call a baby Revival.

WeasilyPleased · 06/05/2022 22:57

So sorry OP but it is not at all pretty to my ears. Let it lie.

Maybe not, but We do need to keep in mind not everyone is looking for a pretty name

DramaAlpaca · 07/05/2022 00:20

Dear god, I hope not. Poor child!

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 07/05/2022 00:26

I don't like it, it's very dated and not in a good way. Great aunts are called Eunice. And I have taught, over the years many boys called Yunis/Younis (and other spellings thereof) so when I hear it, I think boy.

catsonahottinroof · 07/05/2022 00:30

I never knew it was in in the first place BUT whilst I don't think it is at first glance a very attractive name, there is nothing wrong with it so if you like it then go for it!

whatausername · 07/05/2022 01:25

Nah, go for Bernice instead

ButterRose · 07/05/2022 03:21

Going against the grain here but I personally don't mind it. The 2 Eunice's I have known have been really funny, awesome and nice people! They don't put up with rubbish but are the first to lend a helping hand if you need it. Good memories so I like the name

brokengoalposts · 07/05/2022 04:29

Eunice is the name of my Eufy robot vacuum.

GreatCuppa · 07/05/2022 10:46

No, no one is going to thank you for being called Eunice.

Orphlids · 07/05/2022 11:11

There’s a Eunice in the fabulous film, What’s Up Doc. Upon being introduced to Eunice (who is rather an unfortunate creature), Barbra Streisand’s character says to herself in disbelief, “That’s a woman called Eunice!” That’s sort of how I feel about it too. I wouldn’t want to be called Eunice, and generally speaking I quite like less pretty names.

elfran · 07/05/2022 11:49

I personally think it's cool, although my DD has a similarly fusty, "she won't thank you for it" 🙄 name so that is my style. Honestly it's not that far from Edith, Lois etc for me. The sounds in it feel familiar and trendy though it isn't well-used, which imo is the sweet spot you want.

DFOD · 07/05/2022 11:52

Nah - it’s stuck down there with Brenda and Beryl

KirstenBlest · 07/05/2022 13:12

sounds too much like Younis

queenofmay · 08/05/2022 03:17

I think it has a nice meaning, but I can't see it being revived any time soon. Not sure why - I mean, other names end in the -is/-ice sound like Iris, Lois and Beatrice are relatively popular. Maybe it's the Eun- part that puts people off?

Crunchymum · 08/05/2022 12:01

I actually really like it.

My favourite girls names are Jean, Olive and Pearl (plus both DD have what would be ci

Crunchymum · 08/05/2022 12:03

I don't what the fuck is up with stupid website today. I was saying as well as the names I like both my DD names would be considered "old lady"

Cryingintherain99 · 08/05/2022 12:46

I was looking at a list of names from 1900 and some of them I really like - Rosina, Susannah and Clara (which is popular now).
Eunice was on there, but I just don't like the sound of it.
