Looking for ideas for a girl's name. Her sister is called Violet. Maybe Iris (too floral together?)

Thanks

I think Violet and Iris sound lovely together. Both floral granted but so what.

I have a friend whose daughters are Iris and Rose. I think two floral names are lovely together.

Alternative nature names: Daphne, Hazel, Myrtle, Rosemary, Veronica, Ivy, Heather, Marguerite.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sisters both having floral names. Iris is nice.

wordleaddict · 04/05/2022 23:46

Too flowery. My friend had those two and people would have a laugh about her bouquet. Violet and Suzanne sounds nice. I know a Violet and Clarissa. Violet and Jessica. Violet and Claire

I know a Violet and Mabel which sound good together I think.

I like Eliza paired with Violet; it’s quite musical said together with the ‘i’ sounds complimenting eachother. “Violet and Eliza, come here please!”. Yes, very nice :)

PeaceLurking9to5 · 05/05/2022 07:39

Mabel is lovely.
Eliza too.

I wouldn't go for another floral name tbh. Not even Iris. Iris is probably the best floral name to put with Violet as it's not a frilly flowery name it's strong. But two flower names, nmsaa.

PeaceLurking9to5 · 05/05/2022 07:40

Oh lovely the suggestion of Hazel with Violet as well.

Theoldwoman · 05/05/2022 07:45

With Violet I would use:

Annabel
Kate
Millicent
Grace
Freda
Ada
Penelope
Frances
Emily
Lillian
Isobel
Eve
Zara

Tansy...floral but maybe not quite as obviously so.

JuneOsborne · 05/05/2022 07:53

Julia?
Mary?
Vivienne? (But alliteration ties your tongue in knots when trying to call the right child down the stairs!)
Margot?
Amber?

How about Hazel, Willow or Autumn
