We have a baby bean due in November and we're not finding out the sex of this baby so thinking about girls and boys names

Girls (middle name would be Patricia and then I have a really common last name on the same lines of smith)

Dahlia-Raine
Alice
Hattie
Addison
Wren
Blair
Juniper
River
Meredith
Callie

Boys (we already have a Louis (Lou-ee) , middle name would be Alexander)

James
Finn
Jack
Ezra

To be honest we need some suggestions for boys, took forever to name our son.

Please help Smile

Dahlia-Raine - awful
Alice - ok
Hattie - prefer Harriet with Hattie as a nickname
Addison - no
Wren - there are a few of these around but it's nice
Blair - no
Juniper - no
River - absolutely not
Meredith - no
Callie - I like this

James - nice, a classic
Finn - no, very much a trendy now name
Jack -nice, classic
Ezra - no, hate it

LightningAndRainbows · 02/05/2022 13:11

More boys suggestions:

George
Max
Callum

PurBal · 02/05/2022 13:20

They’re not really my vibe if I’m honest but I actually think Dahlia-Raine or Juniper are lovely.

For boys, every other one I have met recently seems to be Arlo, Ezra or Teddy. How about Laurence, Laurie for short, to go with Louis? Or is that too close? Maybe Milo.

FayCarew · 02/05/2022 13:25

Dahlia-Raine - Daily Rain - No
Alice - yes
Hattie - yes if short for Harriet
Addison - dreadful
Wren - No
Blair - horrible
Juniper - no
River - no
Meredith - horrible
Callie - ok if short for Caroline

James - yes
Finn - nice but no
Jack - know too many
Ezra - no

HollyOfTheBongs · 02/05/2022 13:32

Dahlia-Raine - horrendous
Addison - ditto
Blair - very bad
Wren, Juniper, River - ditto
Meredith and Callie (Caroline) - not really
Alice and Harriet - very nice

James - fine
Finn - too common
Jack - ok
Ezra - too reminiscent of Pound

Henry? George? William? Christopher?

Mumofgirls2017 · 02/05/2022 13:35

Alice, Wren, Juniper or Callie

james or Finn

20viona · 02/05/2022 13:37

Dahlia and Addison are nice but might also like Addalyn. Ezra for a boy.

dizzydizzydizzy · 02/05/2022 14:06

I like the Grey's Anatomy names - Meredith, Callie and Addison (in that order). You should have Derek or George for a boy Grin

I've only seen season 1, that's where I got Meredith and Addison from Blush - didn't know about Callie! Haha

George and Louis seems a bit too royal don't cha think

Although I could always fall off the wagon all together and call him mcdreamy - so people know I'm an fan Grin (just kidding!)

Also thank you everything, I have a while to keep looking.

Bit sad Dahlia was a no go but I have time :)

I love Juniper

I also like all your boys names but if I had to pick it would be James

SpaceJamtart · 02/05/2022 14:20

I like all your boys names any would be nice and go with your other sons name and I like Alice, Juniper and Callie.

I like Dahlia on its own but its a bit of a mouthful with rayne stuck on.

Similar vibe names could be Juno, Lilith and Gaia

alexdgr8 · 02/05/2022 14:26

among the girl's, the only name i recognise as a proper name is
alice.
the rest are comical/nicknames.
boys, do not use finn. avoid surnames. james is good.
what about other biblical names, isaiah, isaac, jacob, daniel, joseph, elijah, jeremiah, josiah, joshua, david, jonathan, peter, philip, thomas, paul, zachary/zachariah, theodore.

okaytoday · 02/05/2022 14:37

I guess I am trying to look at more "unusual" names because our last name is so common - hmmm

okaytoday · 02/05/2022 14:38

Name change fail 😂

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 02/05/2022 15:28

Hattie or James.

Firebird83 · 02/05/2022 15:48

Alice or James

blameitonthecaffeine · 02/05/2022 15:50

Dahlia-Raine - I kind of love this. I don't think I'd use it personally but it's gloriously 60s/70s hippy flower child.
Alice - very solid and traditional but pretty.
Hattie - like it but would use as a nn for Harriet
Addison - like it. Quite an American feel.
Wren - Not keen.
Blair - too Gossip Girl.
Juniper - love it. Also has a hippy vibe but safer than Dahlia-Raine.
River - love it for a boy. Like it for a girl.
Meredith - not keen. Sounds a bit severe.
Callie - sweet. I like it but might use as a nn for Clarissa, Calliope or Calista.

James - like it. Totally timeless and solid.
Finn - really like it. Prefer Finley.
Ezra - like it.
Jack - really like it. Perhaps a bit less everywhere than it was too.

Crankley · 02/05/2022 16:15

Dahlia-Raine - hideous
Alice - nice
Hattie - ok
Addison - no
Wren - no
Blair - ghastly
Juniper - no
River - awful
Meredith - nice
Callie - ni

Boys (we already have a Louis (Lou-ee) , middle name would be Alexander)

James - nice
Finn - no
Jack - ok
Ezra - no

My favourite boy's name is Marcus.

Pemba · 02/05/2022 16:20

Alice is lovely, by far the best of your girl's names. Callie is quite sweet, though it seems as though it should be short for something, not quite sure what!

Addison is definitely the worst girl choice. You know it is actually a surname meaning 'son of Adam'? Very unfeminine. Even Madison, which has a similar sound, is so much nicer just because it has been used as a girl's name for longer I suppose. Plus it has the cute shortening of 'Maddie'. Although of course Madeleine is much better and classier.

I really don't get the current love for Wren. It's a small bird. The sound is not great
What if she turns out to be quite big when she's older, it would be a bit ridiculous.

oy choices are all nice.

Pemba · 02/05/2022 16:21

*Your boy choices are all nice, that should be.

steppemum · 02/05/2022 16:32

I think the response is to Dhalia-Raine which is awful.
Dahlia is pretty, similar to other flower names.
But please tell me you owuld pronounce it liek the flower - Daylia, not Dahhhlia.

Parryon · 02/05/2022 16:34

Dahlia-Raine - definitely not both names, but if you love it then Dahlia is pretty
Alice - beautiful
Hattie - agree with pp of using Harriet with this as a nn
Addison - no, too American
Wren - hate this
Blair - no, too American
Juniper - sweet; nn Juni
River - try-hard hippie
Meredith - ok
Callie - sweet; love Caroline with nn Callie

Boys (we already have a Louis (Lou-ee) , middle name would be Alexander)

James - lovely
Finn - lovely
Jack - lovely
Ezra - lovely

other suggestions: Jonah, Isaac

SunshiningBoo · 02/05/2022 17:06

Love Hattie and Callie. Favourite boys name is James.

cheapskatemum · 02/05/2022 17:13

Blair is a boy's name? The only woman I've ever heard of with that name spelt it Blaire.
