Robert (Robbie);
Rowan; or
Rufus?

What do you like best?

I have a Rufus. I do like Robbie though.

SemperIdem · 20/04/2022 21:32

Rowan
Rufus
Robert is the very distant third

MammaWeasel · 20/04/2022 21:33

Rowan

MrsBertBibby · 20/04/2022 21:34

Robert, by a mile. Great name.

DramaAlpaca · 20/04/2022 21:35

Robert/Robbie

I'm not keen on the others

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/04/2022 21:42

Robert nn Robbie - Robert’s a classic due for revival and Robbie is lively.

Rowan is nice but way overused.
rufus great too, but having a bit of a moment - Robert will stand out more.

TeddyTonks · 20/04/2022 21:49

Wow, I'm surprised by all the Robbie love. But pleasantly so. Thought it might be considered a bit boring.

Between Rowan or Rufus probably the latter

IDontLikeMondays88 · 20/04/2022 22:12

Robbie

also Robin is very nice

SemperIdem · 20/04/2022 22:16

@Luredbyapomegranate

I’m surprised you find Rowan overused, it’s not even in the top 50 for boys and barely in the top 500 for girls

SunshiningBoo · 20/04/2022 22:24

I like Robbie.

KirstenBlest · 21/04/2022 13:38

Robbie short for Robert

emmathedilemma · 21/04/2022 14:11

Rufus is awesome.
Robert is a bit boring and I don't like Robbie.
Rowan / Rohan does feel like every other baby is named that at the moment (or Theo).

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 14:52

Robert / Robbie/ Rab

PierresPotato · 21/04/2022 14:52

Another R is Roland.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 21/04/2022 15:02

Robert. Great name

Rowan - I like it, very popular at the moment - but I feel it could date. And becoming a lot more popular with girls if that’s something that bothers you.

Rufus - super super posh (which may be what you’re after).

ButterRose · 21/04/2022 15:37

I like Rowan the most although I do prefer Rohan

Firebird83 · 22/04/2022 13:32

Robert, definitely.

Carolwithane · 22/04/2022 13:36

I have a Robbie. I may be biased but he's awesome 😀

user3199 · 22/04/2022 14:41

Love Rowan, but being Scottish living in England with an English partner it didn't work for us as pronunciation is different. It's also more commonly a girls name in Scotland.

Robert is nice - Robbie and Rob both good nicknames.

Not keen on Rufus at all, sorry. Has a similar vibe to Rupert for me, which I also don't like.

Other R names I like - Robin (can also use Robbie/Rob nicknames), Reuben, Roderick (Roddy), Ruairidh.

But choose whichever name you love OP, you'll be the one saying it hundreds of times per day!

TeddyTonks · 22/04/2022 16:42

Ooh @user3199 how is Rowan pronounced in Scotland? Hadn't realised it was different

TheYearOfSmallThings · 22/04/2022 16:46

I like them all, but I would go for Robert. Rufas and Rowan are lovely but have been a bit overused lately. Having said that, use the one you love - they are all rock solid names.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 22/04/2022 16:46

Rufus not Rufas

FrecklesMalone · 22/04/2022 16:49

Robert, Rob, Robbie, Bertie, Bob, Bobby. So many great names.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 22/04/2022 16:51

Rowan.. Biased as I have one, now 24
