Thoughts on name Alannah Lily? Surname is Irish (McA)

Trying to incorporate not grandmothers names Blennia and Elizabeth.

My thinking behind these names are that phonetically Alannah and Blennia, my mother's name are similar and it means "my rock, precious child" which I would say my mum is to me (my rock).

Elizabeth, is my mother in law's name but seems bit of as mouthful with Alannah and the surname together- Lily is a variation of Elizabeth and been a possible choice for a baby girl's name.

Thoughts? Please be kind!

Lovely!

NuffSaidSam · 15/04/2022 02:35

It's not my taste, but it's a recognisable name, not too popular, good nickname potential, sounds lovely together and has a lovely family meaning behind it. All the boxes ticked.

Fine, depends on how Alannah sounds with the surname.
If you are not in NI, Alannah will be said As A-lah-na not Al-anna,and probably be misspelt

It will be said like this.

It’s not to my taste but it’s OK.

Beautiful name.

whatausername · 15/04/2022 18:05

Not sure that Lily is a variant of Elizabeth.

KirstenBlest · 15/04/2022 18:46

@whatausername, Lily can be used as a diminutive of Elizabeth, but it's also a name in itself with a different meaning to Elizabeth

WeasilyPleased · 15/04/2022 22:52

I like it.

ButterRose · 21/04/2022 13:12

I like it very pretty and ticks all your boxes, I know an Alanna and everyone I know pronounces it correctly she doesn't seem to have any issues

Kanaloa · 21/04/2022 13:23

Alannah Lily is a nice name but it’s got nothing to do with Blennia or Elizabeth to be totally honest. It would be like saying I need to incorporate the names John and Michael so I’m calling my son Marco Garrett.

Lily is not a variant of Elizabeth.

Eliza Blennia
Alannah Beth
Elena Lily
Elly Blennia
Lisa Blennia
Blennia Elizabeth
