Hello all, looking for some advice. We have a two year old called Florence, and are due a little boy in June.
He will end up being something David brewer .
Current thoughts are
Rowan David Brewer
Felix David Brewer
Elro David Brewer

And my partner likes otis , but I'm not sure.

Do any of these go with Florence?
Does Florence and felix sound a bit naff together? If we have a rowan will we end up with Ro and Flo? ( silly).
Any opinions welcome unless you hate all of them. Yes Elro is a bit weird but I like it...

Roman would go nicely and they both have an Italian theme

Ambrose

Anything but Zebedee!

@Abhannmor

Anything but Zebedee!
How about Dougal then?!!

I kind of like Elro although it could sound a bit made up. Rowan goes ok with Florence. Felix a bit much. I’d imagine Florence to have brothers

Henry
George
Theodore
Edward
Wilfred
Vincent
Arthur
Albert
Charles
Oscar
Alexander
Ralph
Louis

Or less traditional possible

Arlo
Charlie
Leo
Maxwell
Archie
Reggie
Hugo
Harrison
Rupert
Milo

Felix is too similar to Florence imo. I like Rowan and wouldn't see Flo and Ro as a problem, I think they'd still generally be known by their full names. Not keen on Elro. Some other names which might work,

Eli
Oscar
Otto
Seth
Sebastian
Raphael
Wilbur
Ernest

I don’t think any of them really goes with Florence, except Felix which is too matchy matchy

Louis
George
Frederick
William
Edward
Henry etc are classics that go

Ernest
Arthur
Oscar
Alfred
Victor
Leonard
Hugo
Albert have all got a similar Edwardian vibe

Patrick
Maxim
Alexander nn Alex
Miles
Giles
Rufus
Andrew
Robert
Leo
Noah
Jonah
Jethro
Jerome
Jude
Gabriel
Dominic
Alistair
Gideon
Tobias / Toby
Jacob
Reuben etc all go fine

My first thought was Henry too. I do think it probably should be a classic.

OutingHobby · 09/04/2022 14:32

Benjamin

Ronald goes with Florence

GenExer · 09/04/2022 14:37

Laurence (Laurie)

But that might be too close to the sound of Florence?

dogschewbones · 09/04/2022 14:39

I dunno, just go for a name you like and that doesn’t sound completely insane as a pair.
So Christine and Christopher, or Nicholas and Nicola - those are a bit weird. But aside from that just pick a name for the person. They won’t be primarily a sibling for long after all.

urbanbuddha · 09/04/2022 14:39

I like Elro best of your names.
Jack goes well with Florence.

Miriano · 01/05/2025 14:49

Of the three, I would go with Rowan. Rowan David has a more successful dignified name, than the other two. I would not worry whether it matched Florence. They are not twins, and they each have a name to wear regardless of the other. In time, with settling, family terms of endearment will pop up either way.

Florence and
Magnus
Roland
Roman (I second this)
Julian
Thomas
August
Edmund/Edward
Lucian

I think I like Rowan David the best out of your list, Ro and Flo are fine since they are nicknames.

Reddelilah · 01/05/2025 17:27

I agree that Felix and Rowan don’t go well at all with Florence.

I like the suggestions of
Raphael
Quentin

I also quite like Elro

HugoYorway · 01/05/2025 19:30

Has to be Fred.

Pick the name you like best, sibling names don't need to match, as long as they're not wildly different.
