None are technically correct - it's not a real name! Bethan contains Beth - or Bethany? Lilibet was how either Princess Elizabeth or Princess Margaret (can't remember which) pronounced Elizabeth before they could talk properly.

DoodleBelle · 06/04/2022 19:47

Lilibet is as close to correct as you can get but it’s not a real name. Lily Elizabeth or Lily Bethany are both nice choices though.

PrincessesRUs · 06/04/2022 19:47

It's like saying Tatie is a proper name - as that's how I pronounced my own name before I could manage Katie! Lilibet's pretty but very very heavily associated with the Windsors!

toastofthetown · 06/04/2022 19:47

I don't think any is correct (I believe Lilibet is the spelling the Queen and Harry's daughter use), and as it's a middle name I don't think it matters that much. If it's at all helpful, these are all the girls names registered in 2020 containing Beth.

ELIZABETH
BETHANY
ELISABETH
BETHAN
BETH
BETHEL
ELIZABETH-ROSE
ANNABETH
ELSBETH
BETHANIE
BETHIA
BETHLEHEM

Well none are really ‘correct’ as such. I’d say the most correct would be something like Lily-Beth. The others aren’t traditional names with widely accepted ‘correct’ spellings, the way that William is correct and not Wiliam.

But any of them is fine for a middle name. I’d probably choose Lily Beth or Lilibet. Lilybeth all together looks messy to me.

NuffSaidSam · 06/04/2022 19:51

It's a made up name, so you can spell it however you want!

I like Lilibeth best. But would probably just use Beth if that's what you want or Lily Beth as two middle names.

Violetandpurple · 06/04/2022 19:59

Thanks all can't just use Beth and the first and surname are short and it doesn't look right.

I like the suggestion of Elsbeth though!

Not a name! It is a nickname - and a totally cringe one at that

Amdone123 · 06/04/2022 20:23

Love Elsbeth ❤

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/04/2022 20:41

They are just nns so anyway you want

Elsbeth is much nicer if Elizabeth is too long, otherwise I think Annabeth, Marybeth or Bethan are all a lot better than Lilybeth

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2022 16:40

Lily was used as a diminutive of Elizabeth so Lily Elizabeth is a bit like Elizabeth Elizabeth. Bethan is a diminutive of Elisabeth

Lilybeth/Lilibeth/Lilibet are abit awful, although if you are EIIR you might get away with it. I don't think you are HM though.

I'd just use Beth as the middle name unless you want to use Elizabeth. I'm not keen on Bethany. Bethan is ok if you are a Welsh speaker but it's currently dated

I'm fan of Rosebeth and Marybeth
