Flower names that aren't too out there

Interested in creating a list of floral names that could be used as first name but may end up as middle.

For eg Blossom is beautiful but it's a bit too princessy. Also does Magnolia (for middle name if used not first) make you think of Dulex and what do you think of Zinnia?

I know a Magnolia and Juniper, they are sisters and I've never thought of paint once. I did think oh that's unusual when Magnolia was born but that was it. She's generally known as Maggie

Not flowers but Sorrel and Saffron are both lovely names and I really like Melissa too.

Not Fuchsia! Outside the UK is pronounced Fucks-ia like the German surname meaning Fox

I used to work with both an Amaryllis and a Camélia. Even though the latter was a complete cow, I loved her name.

What about Amaryllis or Astilbe? If they aren't already names they sound like they should be.Smile

Does Iolanthe count as out there? (it means Violet)
Rosamund
Buttercup
Cornelia - bit of a cheat because this was a name long before it was given to a rose

SpaghettiSquash · 03/04/2022 17:12

Celandine
Sorrel (not a flower but I love this)

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/04/2022 17:35

Magnolia makes me, and probably everyone, think of basic white paint.

Rose is lovely but way overused, Violet is nice and quite popular. Otherwise Jasmine? Or Briar, Daphne, Cassia, Rowan, Fern, Laurel, Sorrel, Rosemary, Viola, I would say Lavender at a push but It’s a bit close to Lav.

I don’t like the Poppy Lily Daisy Clover names because I wouldn’t want to be called them as an adult, too drippy. Primrose is sopping wet.

Zinnia - alright as a middle name
