Yes, very nice. Though personally I'd have Annabel as it's less frilly than Annabelle.

Not that I would worry too much about 'sibling names sounding nice together', as people tend to only spend about 16 - 20 years being mentioned in the same sentence as their sibling, but then 60+ years just being an individual, or being referred to as half of a couple with their spouse.

However, Nicholas and Sophie are both nice names with a similar type of vibe.

Not at all, siblings are bound for life.

Yes those names go together

Yes, my siblings are always my siblings, but people haven't talked about "Kite and Kite's brother" in 40 years. They would talk about "Kite and Kite's dh" or "Kite's brother and his dw".

Joy247 · 02/04/2022 22:14

I think sibling names work better when they go. My DC's names 'go'.

I once figured out that siblings were a blended family because their names were so incongruous. Back in the 80s. It doesn'tmatter in the grander scheme of things, but all things being equal why wouldn't you let them go. Tyler and Annabel sounds daft. Sophie and Annabel sound like they have parents with consistent taste.

But for every person who agrees with me, there'll be one who doesn't I know. But Nicholas and Sophie sound lovely together imo

Really? Weird.

We are always referred to in groups.

So true @Joy247 !

In fact my own cousin's dad remarried a woman, they each had a child with the same name 😜

GinnyBee · 03/04/2022 17:13

parents with consistent taste.

I think that's the core of it. I do find it odd if I hear of siblings with names like Sarah, Henry and Ziggy. Makes me think "what happened?"

Kite22 · 03/04/2022 17:33

Well quite.
It would be unlikely you would call your dc Star, Martini, River and James, as people who would like the first 3 would probably think James was 'boring', or, people who like a name like James probably would dismiss the other 3.

Really? Weird.

We are always referred to in groups.

What, in middle age you have people talk about you and your siblings as a homogenous group ? Confused
