Louisa

AnnoyedFromSlough · 24/03/2023 19:57

Merryn.

My grandmother had a very similar name. Love it!

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/03/2023 20:54

Merryn - really nice

Louisa is fine

Joely is awful. Jocelyn is nice though

KirstenBlest · 24/03/2023 22:13

I don't like Merryn at all. Louisa and Joely are nice. Jolie is dreadful and will get said as Jo Lee.

Prefer Lowenna to Elowen, which will get said as EL-o-wen instead of El-OW-en

ourflagmeansdeath · 24/03/2023 22:17

Merryn is beautiful so that for me. I think it'd be fine to use without Cornish connection. Louisa is lovely as well. I really dislike Joely.

shoopshoopdedoo · 25/03/2023 21:33

I quite like Merryn. Not so keen on the other two

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 25/03/2023 21:37

Merryn is beautiful, it was our #1 name for a girl, but both mine are boys!

Viviennemary · 25/03/2023 21:39

Merryn not overkeen
Joely awful
Louisa nice

LucyWildeGru · 25/03/2023 21:43

I absolutely love Merryn and Merry 💕💕💕

CoffeeChocolateWine · 25/03/2023 22:31

Merryn is a gorgeous name and I've never come across it before.

I do know a little girl called Marin as well which has always struck me a beautiful name too.

cassiatwenty · 25/03/2023 22:32

Louisa

CoffeeChocolateWine · 25/03/2023 22:32

Not keen on Louisa or Joely though. I see Louisa a lot on these boards at the moment but it sounds really dated to me.

Weenurse · 25/03/2023 22:35

I am biased as I have a Louisa.
I also really like Merryn Louisa

Leeds2 · 25/03/2023 23:47

Merryn is lovely. Louisa also nice.

Joey wouldn't be my choice.

Leeds2 · 25/03/2023 23:47

Or Joely, even!

FatGirlSwim · 25/03/2023 23:56

Merryn. It’s beautiful. Elowen also lovely and i don’t think it matters about your names.

LittleLentils · 26/03/2023 00:17

Louisa! Strong and feminine.

I think Merryn sounds abrupt.

user1492757084 · 26/03/2023 12:49

Merryn, Merrin and Mirren are all interesting.
I like Mirren best.
Louisa I also love.

Joely is cute if your like to sing the Dolly Parton song a little differently.

FredaFox · 26/03/2023 13:05

Wasn't the baby called merrryn in catastrophe?

Jayneisagirlsname · 26/03/2023 13:10

I am also biased as I have a Louisa. I really like Merryn though and think Merryn Louisa flows beautifully.

AddictedToVinted · 27/03/2023 10:02

Wasn't the baby called merrryn in catastrophe?

Muireann, which is definitely harder to pronounce.

TheBirdintheCave · 28/03/2023 13:05

In this case, I'd pick Louisa.

Merryn was a male saint so I wouldn't use that on a girl.

Poepourri · 28/03/2023 13:07

Merryn is v nice.

Also Meriel, Meredith.

Wedoronron · 28/03/2023 13:08

Merryn. Love it.
Louisa is ok
Joely is awful.
