They’re both lovely, maybe Cordelia just pips the post.

IggyAce · 01/04/2022 03:50

Cordelia.

IrishMamaMia · 01/04/2022 04:23

Cordelia.. But I love both :)

Kanaloa · 01/04/2022 04:27

Cordelia for sure for me! I like Elizabeth but I think Cordelia is just a bit nicer. Elizabeth does have nicer nicknames though. I suppose there’s Delia as a nice shortening to Cordelia. But Elizabeth has a lot more choice. Still think I prefer Cordelia though!

Dinoteeth · 01/04/2022 05:20

Both are OK but Elizabeth wins for me

Pac35 · 01/04/2022 06:36

Cordelia Elizabeth is lovely

SkankingMopoke · 01/04/2022 06:45

I'd pick Cordelia but as a PP said Cordelia Elizabeth works well. I went to school with one whose NN was Dillie, if you wanted an alternative shortening to Delia.

Vegansausageroll · 01/04/2022 06:47

Elizabeth for me. I don’t like the sound of Cordelia personally.

Wastwater · 01/04/2022 06:48

Cordelia
(Don't dislike Elizabeth at all.)

StarlingsInTheRoof · 01/04/2022 06:50

I don't like the z sound in Elizabeth, so would say Cordelia. I do like some of the nicknames of Elizabeth such as Bess, Beth and Betty, so depending on what you want to do with it, can be nice too.

Roselilly36 · 01/04/2022 07:11

I prefer Elizabeth, Cordelia always sounds like Cor! Delia to me.

gingerhills · 01/04/2022 07:33

I prefer Elizabeth. I love how varied the diminutives are, so you can find one that really suits the girl's personality: Liz, Lizzie, Liza, Eliza, Beth, Betty, Libby etc. It's a wonderful name.

I like Cordelia but associate it too heavily with King Lear - such a bitter, sad story, even though she is the heroine. And I'm not wild about the "Cor' sound.

sweetbellyhigh · 01/04/2022 07:34

Cordelia just makes me think of cordial

Elizabeth is lovely

StopFeckingFaffing · 01/04/2022 07:37

I love both but given the choice I would rather be called Elizabeth than Cordelia due to the options for shortening it

Solosunrise · 01/04/2022 07:40

Elizabeth for me. I love Lizzie as a diminutive, but also Bess/Beth

Luredbyapomegranate · 01/04/2022 07:44

Both lovely but Cordelia because Elizabeth (and short forms like Elsie and Eliza used as independent names) is so popular at the moment.

Electrox · 01/04/2022 08:08

Cordelia

Ellmau · 01/04/2022 08:10

Cordelia

Amdone123 · 01/04/2022 08:14

Elizabeth for me, but the more I say Cordelia, the more I like it. It's so pretty.

LittleBird4 · 01/04/2022 09:05

Elizabeth

spearmynt · 01/04/2022 09:46

Elizabeth

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 01/04/2022 09:59

Cordelia is awesome

Hummingbirdcake · 01/04/2022 10:00

Elizabeth.

CruCru · 01/04/2022 10:02

I love Elizabeth but every single Elizabeth I know gets it shortened to Liz (even when they openly say they hate Liz).

So Cordelia.

comealongponds · 01/04/2022 10:17

Elizabeth by a mile, it’s my all time favourite name
