Baby girl is due in 2 weeks her middle name will be Esther after myself and her granny just not sure how to spell her first name yet. I prefer Lila Esther but my husband prefers Lyla Esther. I’m not keen on Lilah. What do you all think ?

Lyla

FayCarew · 29/03/2022 14:00

I don't like it however you spell it. So many similar names like Lyra, Lily, Lola, Layla etc.
Esther is nice

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 29/03/2022 14:02

Lyla. No scope for Leela pronunciation..

JurassicPerks · 29/03/2022 14:04

Lyla

Maui69 · 29/03/2022 14:05

Lilah.

Joolsin · 29/03/2022 14:06

If you want to pronounce it LY-lah, rather than LEE-lah, use the Lyla spelling.

RonSwansonsChair · 29/03/2022 14:06

I'd pronounce Lyla as LYE-LA, not Lila as LEE-LA
But that's just because of people I know, not sure which pronunciation you want??

canyoubelievethat · 29/03/2022 14:31

Lyla

KylieCharlene · 29/03/2022 14:32

Lyla
( But much, much prefer the similar Layla- sorry!)

2DogsOnMySofa · 29/03/2022 14:33

Lajlah is another way of spelling it

LoIa · 29/03/2022 14:33

I prefer Lyla - I think it's more sophisticated

Beees · 29/03/2022 14:37

Lyla for definite. Only use Lila if you don't mind people assuming it is pronounced Lee-Lah instead of Lie-Lah.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 29/03/2022 14:38

I prefer Lyla.
I also like Lilah but somehow Lila looks incomplete without the h - think it will confuse people on the pronunciation.

That's what I've always thought
JulieYS · 29/03/2022 14:41

I prefer Lyla too!

JulieYS · 29/03/2022 15:18

I prefer Lyla too!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 29/03/2022 15:19

Lyla

Although I much prefer Lyra

butterflycatcher · 29/03/2022 15:22

Agree with other posters regarding pronunciation, I would pronounce Lyla as Lie-la, but I wouldn't be sure if Lila was Lee-la or Lie-la. If you want the Lie-la sound go with Lyla to make your daughter's life easier.

FinnsMammy · 29/03/2022 15:50

Wow so many of you agree with Lyla . Lyla it is thanks ladies xx

Lyla

Lila is nice, until recently I thought it was pronounced Lil-a not Li-la. Its a nice name.

beans1992 · 30/03/2022 22:18

Lyla over Lila BUT I think Lilah feels like the ‘proper’ spelling imo

Ellie5341 · 30/03/2022 23:02

Yep Lyla!

londongirl2701 · 30/03/2022 23:11

Lila

Beautiful x
