We're expecting a little girl in the summer and really could use some opinions on names! What do we think of:

Primrose Cherry
Cordelia Violet
Willow Cherry
Arianna Violet
Arizona Rose
Bobbie Violet
Scout Violet
Dakota Violet
Cleo Violet

Or any other combinations or suggestions you guys might have? :D

Cute!

I love cherry as a middle name.

I also love Pippa, Penny & Ophelia (fifi for shirt)

Primrose is really pretty.

Comedycook · 22/03/2022 11:52

Arianna or Cleo

estoybien · 22/03/2022 11:54

Arianna and Cleo are good names on your list. American states appear a couple of times on there, would you therefore consider Georgia?

cherryonthecakes · 22/03/2022 12:00

I like Violet more than Cherry but Cherry is still a good name.

Not keen on Dakota and Arizona (do you have a US connection?)
Not keen on Primrose (it's the prim bit) and Scout/Bobbie are too unisex for my liking. I know that Scout in TKAB is female and Bobby is the male version.

Love Cleo, Arianna and Willow (in that order) and I'm assuming that your surname isn't Grande

Marcipex · 22/03/2022 12:02

I like all the first names on your list, with the exception of Arianna, which is going to be the Sharon or Tracy of its era.

I’m not so sure about Cherry. Doesn’t it have another meaning?

KirstenBlest · 22/03/2022 13:01

Primrose Cherry - two nature names, sounds like a yellow fruit
Cordelia Violet - ok
Willow Cherry - two nature names, sounds like a flowering tree
Arianna Violet - not keen on Arianna
Arizona Rose - sounds like a cactus
Bobbie Violet - ok
Scout Violet - Scout is too 'Mummy's read a book, at school'. Names don't flow
Dakota Violet - better than Arizona but if you want to name a daughter after a state, why not pick Carolina, Georgia or Virginia?
Cleo Violet - ok

TatianaBis · 22/03/2022 13:11

I like Violet far more than any of the others.

I think US names like Arizona and Dakota sound very odd in certain UK accents.

TatianaBis · 22/03/2022 13:13

Have you ever been to either? Otherwise it's a bit aspirational/pretentious wannabe American.

canyoubelievethat · 22/03/2022 13:26

Cleo Violet is my favourite.

scottishnames · 22/03/2022 13:40

Dakota is the name of a Native American people - seems wrong to use it as a personal name en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota_people

Arizona is probably derived from a European colonists' word meaning 'good oak tree'. Again, IMHO, it seems wrong as a personal name. But you might not agree, of course.

Cleo Violet is very nice.

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/03/2022 15:15

Cleo Violet

averythinline · 22/03/2022 16:49

Cleo is great, like Violet but somehow seems a bit short after Cleo

Cleo Dakota maybe? Although think I would use another long name like Josephine/Madeleine

I also like Cordelia and works with Violet

Clairejay34 · 22/03/2022 22:56

I absolutely love Cleo! Its such a beautiful name.
I'm not sure about any of the others or the middle names.
What about Cleo Ivy?

DramaAlpaca · 23/03/2022 00:55

Cleo Violet, or maybe Arianna Violet. I don't like the rest.

Luredbyapomegranate · 23/03/2022 01:19

Cleo and Cordelia are both very nice

The rest are a bit Disney Princess, or try hard except for Primose which is wet and prim

20viona · 23/03/2022 01:33

Dakota Violet

hazandduck · 23/03/2022 01:42

Love a lot of your names. Cordelia Violet is so lovely. I have a little 2 y/o Cleo so am biased but I also love Cleo Violet ☺️

urbanbuddha · 23/03/2022 01:54

Primrose Cherry - I don't like this one.

Bobbie Violet - prefer Bobbie Rose
Scout Violet - I like Scout but it's out of step with Violet
Dakota Violet - not sure

Cordelia Violet - okay
Willow Cherry - mmm

Arianna Violet - like
Arizona Rose - like a lot
Cleo Violet- okay, think I prefer Cleo Rose

Arizona Rose is my favourite.

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/03/2022 18:56

Primrose Cherry - love Primrose bit Cherry sounds a bit silly. Not so bad in the middle name spot though

Cordelia Violet - love Cordelia and I like Violet

Willow Cherry - I like Willow
Arianna Violet - not a fan of Ariana
Arizona Rose - or Arizona. Rose is so full as a middle name
Bobbie Violet - live Bobbie as a NN for Roberta
Scout Violet - it's ok, not sure I'd want to be called Scout as an adult though
Dakota Violet - Dakota is nice enough
Cleo Violet - not a fan of Cleo

Can I suggest Primrose Cordelia or Cordelia Willow. Though if Bobbie was short for Roberta that would be my favourite, Roberta Primrose

FlamingoDust · 24/03/2022 07:15

I love Cordelia and Cherry!

groovergirl · 24/03/2022 07:54

I like Cordelia (Anne of Green Gables rules!), Primrose, Violet, Willow and Cherry. Botanical names are eternally cool and chic.

Please nix Dakota (dated and silly), Scout (dog's name, and don't talk to me about To Kill A Mockingbird; her name was Jean Finch) and Arizona, unless you actually live there. Bobbie has a cute mid-century vibe, but maybe call your baby Robyn or Roberta with Bobbie as nn.

MargaritasOnMe · 24/03/2022 07:56

I really like Willow, Arianna and Cleo. I think I'd go for Cleo as top pick! Definitely don't like Arizona.

JennyHogon · 24/03/2022 07:56

Cordelia is good. Primrose is ok. Scout, Dakota etc are not. (IMO)

DogsAndGin · 24/03/2022 13:32

Primrose Cherry LOVE primrose, hate cherry
Cordelia Violet - cordelia sounds like a vampire
Willow Cherry - LOVE willow, see above.
Arianna Violet - Violet is lovely, Arianna Grande
Arizona Rose - trailer trash
Bobbie Violet - see above
Scout Violet - see above
Dakota Violet - these have gone very Yank
Cleo Violet - nice

DogsAndGin · 24/03/2022 13:33

Best for me: Primrose Violet
