What do you think? Cassandra feels quite dated to me, but Cassia sounds bright and fresh.

Gorgeous.

Ikeameatballs · 20/03/2022 22:22

Lovely!

Sadgirlsummer · 20/03/2022 22:23

Love Cassia!

RosemaryRosemary · 20/03/2022 23:21

Book’s daughter is called Cassis Peaches

I like the name

RosemaryRosemary · 20/03/2022 23:21

Cassia peaches I meant!

RosemaryRosemary · 20/03/2022 23:23

Wow I am struggling with auto correct. Boris Johnson’s daughter is called Cassia Peaches

eddiemairswife · 20/03/2022 23:35

I thought cassia was a laxative.

Mountainbear · 21/03/2022 01:30

Oh god, I think you've all put me off! Confused

Apparently kezziah is the Hebrew for cassia. Might be another option for you 😊

WeAreTheHeroes · 21/03/2022 07:16

Cassia is a form of cinnamon. Kasia is the Polish shortened version of the name Catherine, so the equivalent of Kate or Kathy.

Blueuggboots · 21/03/2022 07:19

Prefer Cassiopeia.

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/03/2022 07:44

I love it. Although tba one of Boris’ daughters I believe

oioisavoy · 21/03/2022 07:58

I have one so I'm biased but I love her name. Easy for her to spell and for kids to say. Cassia is a genus of plants (Google it as there are beautiful cassia trees) and this includes one that is used as a laxative. That's not true for the entire genus.

Elleinad0 · 21/03/2022 07:59

Gorgeous name!!

Cassia or Kasia

Just felt compelled to say how I love the name Cassandra. I don't dislike Cassia but don't think it's as dramatic. Maybe it's just so many girls names now are ia at the end. People mentioned one being dated and the other fresh. Is Cassandra really dated? I've never met a Cassandra. I have met Sandra s but as their own name. Cassandra with Cass or Cassie for short I think is a stunning name.

DotDotDotDotDot · 21/03/2022 13:28

I really like Cassia, I think it’s a lovely nature type name. Cass and Cassie are good shortenings too in my opinion. The only thing that might put me off a bit is that some may pronounce it as Cash-a rather than Cass-ee-a.

Yeah, Cassandra is kind of growing on me. I might start a new thread on it...

I love Cassia - it’s beautiful, distinguished, sparky, unusual without being wacky, and easy to spell. As Cassie is fine if she wants that.

(No one will say it Cash-ah so don’t worry about that)

glowingcandle · 21/03/2022 21:31

Cassandra always makes me think of Only Fools and Horses. But our children's generation won't have watched that so probably not a big deal!
