Girl and Boy Name Help Please

Already have a little boy called Noah.

For a girl I really like Matilda but not keen on the shortening's and prefer first names that are less likely to be shortened. So came up with Rose as a first name (I absolutely love T i t a n i c)

What do you think of Rose Matilda?

For a boy I had already decided on Jacob. But struggling with a middle name. What do you think of Jacob Dawson? Dawson (again has t i t a n i c links) and means son of David (he will be grandson and great grandson of David). Alternatively been thinking about Jack.

Which sounds better; Jacob Dawson or Jack (middle name to be decided)?

Obviously wouldn't use Rose AND Jack. This will be last baby.

Thanks.

Rose Matilda is nice. I prefer it the other way around, but I understand not liking shortenings of Matilda.

I think Rose will be nicknamed Rosie, however. You might have a better chance if ending up with Rose if you named a DD Rosalie or another longer name that starts with Rose.

I prefer Jacob to Jack. Dawson isn't bad as a middle name. The idea of a link to the grandfather and g-grandfather is nice. I think it might be assumed to be a maternal surname or linked to Dawson's Creek, but nobody is going to quiz you over it.

I would personally just stick with David as the middle name but if you feel really strongly about the movie then go for it, why not...

@mathanxiety I wouldn't use David if I'm honest, as I don't like using family names. Just my personal preference, but I feel they are there own person.

Rose is lovely but there are an awful lot of them, how about Rosanna?

Jacob is great and better than Jack - Jack is nice but has been so overused it needs to be retired

Rosa? I like Dawson as a mn for Jacob or Jack.

Why do you write 'Titanic' with a space between each letter? Misses point of thread

Pandypuff · 21/03/2022 05:10

Love Rose Matilda and Jacob goes perfectly with Noah. Jack less so.

I imagine to prevent searches for t i t a n i c bringing millions of people to this thread.
