if you google "pronunciation of evelyn mumsnet" you will see no less than 15 threads over the past 4 years. doubt it has changed.
i'm in the 3 syllables camp.

I think it's really pretty however it's pronounced anyway

My aunt is pronounced eevlin and my friends daughter is ev e lin both spelled Evelyn.

Agree it depends on boy or girl. I assume people don’t call their boys Evelyn anymore though.
