GeneLovesJezebel · 17/03/2022 08:43

Josie is ok, the rest I’m not keen on.

PiccoloMaud · 17/03/2022 08:44

Love Josie, Celeste, Vincent and Dmitri

Amdone123 · 17/03/2022 08:45

Love Celeste, Vincent and James.
Don't like the rest.

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 17/03/2022 08:46

Wow, mixed bag, you definitely don’t have a type! I actually like Judith. Never hear it these days but Jude is a great name for boy or girl

MrsMoastyToasty · 17/03/2022 08:49

Rajah is a name for an Indian king.
Drake is a male duck.
So those 2 are definitely out, but the rest are OK.

rainbowandglitter · 17/03/2022 08:52

That's a bizarre mix. I like Josie the best.

toastofthetown · 17/03/2022 08:54

Judith - I like Judith, it’s sounds refreshingly different to the most popular name
Josie - I don’t like the nickname as a full name trend, and I don’t like anything Josie could be short for either
Céleste - it’s fine
Rajah - very different from your other girls names. I’ve only heard it on boys before
Marilyn - not really a fan

Boys:
Drake - makes me think of the rapper
Henry - nice but very popular
Vincent - lovely however I don’t like Vince or Vinnie
Dimitri - I like it in theory, but would be very surprised to meet a Dimitri with no Russian background
James - nice/bit boring and very popular

bonfireheart · 17/03/2022 08:58

Judith - no
Josie - ok
Céleste - no
Rajah - really really no
Marilyn - no
Drake - no
Henry - ok
Vincent - ok
Dimitri - no
James - ok

Happenchance · 17/03/2022 09:00

Love Celeste and like Josie, though I would use Jocelyn (or at a push Josephine) on Josie's birth certificate.

Like Henry and James. I also like Drake but it's a dog's name in my experience. I hate Vincent and Vinnie.

Babadook76 · 17/03/2022 09:02

@MrsMoastyToasty

Rajah is a name for an Indian king. Drake is a male duck. So those 2 are definitely out, but the rest are OK.
Agree with this. I know mn loved to get offended at the mere mention of race nowadays, but rajah wouldn’t look right for a white, female baby. The rest are ok
beetree1 · 17/03/2022 09:11

Judith - ok - my friend is called Judith and she absolutely hates it. She feels like she's always been expected to be an old woman.
Josie - like
Céleste - like
Rajah - as others mentioned different to your other names. Also reminds me of the tiger called Rajah on Aladdin
Marilyn - not a fan

Boys:
Drake - not a fan
Henry - nice but popular
Vincent - I really like
Dimitri - not for me
James - ok but simple

Fogeyname · 17/03/2022 09:12

I've name changed for this. My name is Judith, I absolutely hate it. I have never met anybody else in my age group with the same name. It is a hard sounding name. There are much nicer names.
I like Celeste and Vincent.

Blue4YOU · 17/03/2022 09:30

I like quite a lot of them!
I like Judith
I think Josie is cute but it’s more of a nickname (for Josephine?)
I like Celeste (but I love Celestine)
Not keen on Marilyn and Rajah

Don’t like Drake or Vincent but like all your other boy’s names.

It’s good to see a list that isn’t full of very popular names

ladygindiva · 17/03/2022 09:32

I love Josie and Celeste; and I like Henry and also Vincent, nn Vinnie. Not keen on the others.

JeffThePilot · 17/03/2022 10:19

Rajah is a masculine word, it’s literally King, it wouldn’t suit a girl at all.

I like Celeste and Dmitri but you have an odd mixed bag there!

Mumofgirls2017 · 17/03/2022 10:28

Like Josie and Celeste for girls and Henry, Vincent and James for boys

SpicePumpkin · 17/03/2022 10:42

I love Celeste, Henry & James.

FayCarew · 17/03/2022 12:44

Girls:
Judith - not keen but Judy is nice
Josie - not keen but it's not awful
Céleste - contraceptive, Marie-Celeste
Rajah - Indian prince
Marilyn - not keen but it's not awful

I'd choose Judith nn Judy or Josephine nn Josie and bin the rest

Boys:
Drake
Henry
Vincent
Dimitri
James

FayCarew · 17/03/2022 12:47

Boys:
Drake - male duck
Henry - fine
Vincent - not keen
Dimitri - it has different spellings, I'd guess a russian heritage
James - I'd choose this

James and Henry are ok

elliesmummy19 · 17/03/2022 13:01

I like Judith and James, maybe Henry but not fussed on the rest.

demoness · 17/03/2022 13:25

Girls:
Judith - Biblical. Somewhat dated but not terribly so.
Josie - I only like this as a NN for Josephine.
Céleste - I really like this (but the accent would probably be left off in the UK).
Rajah - Sounds like a male Indian name.
Marilyn - Very associated with Marilyn Monroe.

Boys:
Drake - Very associated with the rapper.
Henry - Nice name, traditional, popular.
Vincent - I really like this. Vintage and ready for a comeback, in my opinion.
Dimitri - I really like Dimitri myself though I would worry it might sound odd on someone who has no Eastern European heritage. But then again, Ivan is a Russian name and it's fairly common in the UK...
James - Classic.

sevensleeps · 17/03/2022 13:43

Judith - nice
Josie - nice (though don't like nn Jo, would that bother you?)
Céleste - okay (why the accent though?)
Rajah - prefer Raya but this sounds nice too
Marilyn - okay, bit old-fashioned

Drake - okay, a bit too 'cool' for me
Henry - nice but overdone
Vincent - love!
Dimitri - nice
James - love as well

Lovely choices OP Smile

Nosetickle · 17/03/2022 14:54

I like Josie on your girls list and James in your boys list

canyoubelievethat · 17/03/2022 15:53

Love Celeste and Vincent.

Nurseryrun · 17/03/2022 15:56

Celeste and Henry! Beautiful!

Not keen on the others, sorry...
