We're at a final 4 of:

Tobias
Max
Ezra
Remy

Would love any thoughts!

Ezra is my favourite, and I also really like Max and Tobias. Would Max be short for something else or not?

newbiema · 12/03/2022 20:01

Max would be short for Maximilian!

Ezra - it looked like it was going to go overpopulate but I don’t think It has? Ezra is a cool guy
Tobias - it’s probably my favourite but I am not mad about Toby
Max - you can’t go wrong, although it’s not very exciting

Remy - no - unless you are giving birth to a 63 year old Frenchman

estoybien · 12/03/2022 21:23

I like them all but favourite is Tobias/Toby followed by Ezra

cuno · 12/03/2022 21:29

@newbiema

Max would be short for Maximilian!
I really like Maximilian nn Max. I think all apart from Remy are great!
Snowbell99 · 12/03/2022 21:31

Remy is nice but becoming popular.

Ezra is ugly to me and Esra is a common Turkish girls name so I always think of two Turkish female friends named this.

Max is okay but I prefer a full name, Maximilian nn Max.

Toby is too childish. I dislike Tobias, though.

  1. Remy
  2. Max (better Maximilian)

Remy Maximilian is nice.

WeasilyPleased · 12/03/2022 22:32

My favourite is Ezra. It is easy to spell and say and has an interesting sound.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 13/03/2022 00:20

Remy/Remmie always used to be a nasty slur against less intelligent children and/or those with learning difficulties at our school ('remedial') - I don't know how universal/contemporary that would be now, though.

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/03/2022 02:45

Remy or Max

Never heard that growing up in the US. I see Remy as a nickname. The Ezras I know are Jewish (Hebrew for help) and it’s also a popular Persian name for girls.
TheOriginalEmu · 13/03/2022 04:45

Ezra, Remy I like a lot.
I like Max/Macs as a shortening for Macsen
I don’t like Tobias.

MoodySky · 13/03/2022 05:31

I have a friend whose son is Tobias. It always sounds clumsy, and I think "oh just call him Toby".

Not sure that's any help 😃

Kanaloa · 13/03/2022 05:34

Toby & Max are lovely friendly names, I really like them. Ezra I’m not too keen on, Rémy I don’t like because it reminds me of a rat.

babynamelover · 13/03/2022 06:48

I have only known lovely Max's 😊

mol2mum · 13/03/2022 13:25

I love Remy!

KirstenBlest · 13/03/2022 13:46

Tobias/Toby - ok, prefer Toby
Max - fine
Ezra - don't like it
Remy - only if French

soulinablackberrypie · 13/03/2022 18:22

I don't love any of these, but I think Toby is the best of the bunch.

MissCarolina · 13/03/2022 18:28

I like Tobias, but I do prefer just Toby.

DogsAndGin · 15/03/2022 21:39

Love Toby and Max!

Don’t like the other two at all - very Benidorm

KayEmAy · 16/03/2022 19:09

Oh I LOVE all four of these names!

If I had to vote for one, Ezra

Herewegoagain84 · 16/03/2022 21:01

I like Toby. Would avoid Remy unless you’re French - otherwise it just reminds me of Remy Martin!

CatsArePeople · 16/03/2022 22:37

Ezra. Toby and Max are too doggish.

abitfunny · 18/03/2022 21:09

These comments! Why do you have to be french to name a child Remy?!

Remy and Max are my favourites. Not keen on Ezra at all.

LoganberryJam · 18/03/2022 21:12

In order: Toby, Max, Ezra, Remy.

organicoatmilk · 19/03/2022 11:56

I'd definitely go Ezra!

I like Remy too. Max is okay but very popular. I dislike Toby.
