Following on from my other thread I've amended my name choices.
I'd appreciate help/advice on which is nicest.
Middle name would be Jean (named for my nana I can't compromise on this).
I'm half Korean so have picked some Korean names too this time as well. I could add the Korean name as another middle name after my nanas though:
Bae
Chin-Sun
Minji
Moon
So-Ok
Sailor
Ember
Cherry
Magnolia
Bronte
Sage
Venus
Yes I've ditched Apricot & taken on board some of the advice you ladies have given me I appreciate it x

@Nopetryagain

What about Siouxsie, pronounced Suzy but seems to be a bit edgier which is what you seem to be going for
Oh no. No, no, no, no, no, fucking NO.

There is only ONE Siouxsie. The divine Ms. Ballion. There can, and never will be, no other.

Snowbell99 · 11/03/2022 17:02

I understand the problem and if you had bothered reading further replies you would have noticed.

I just didn't immediately think of it because I know two people by that name and they say MEEN-ji so it wasn't my first thought.

BreatheAndFocus · 11/03/2022 17:03

I think Cherry Jean or Sailor Jean sound nicest.
Amber sounds much nicer than Ember, which will be misheard as Emma. Amber Jean goes.
I really wanted to like your Korean names as I think that’s would be a really nice thing to do. Perhaps you could add some more Korean names to your list?

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 11/03/2022 17:04

I adore Brontë. Cherry I really like. Serena is a pretty too.

Grimthimble · 11/03/2022 17:05

Cherry Jean is nice.

solbunny · 11/03/2022 17:06

100% Brontë or Magnola, especially with Maggie as a nickname 🥰

MurmuratingStarling · 11/03/2022 17:06

@Spaghetti0h

BRONTE for a boy.
MOON for a girl - or LUNA

SUKI is nice too (but does remind me of a cat's name.) Smile

Not a fan of 'Magnolia.'

Cherry Jean, Apricot Jean, etc - just NO. As a pp said, it sounds like a market trader stood next to Potato Pete, and Asparagus Alan.

And no to Minji! Shock

thecatwhogotthecream · 11/03/2022 17:06

Moon or Cherry, I think Cherry is Ed Sheehan's wife? And I think I've heard moon as s name and as your half Korean I think it'll work

RedPinkRose · 11/03/2022 17:07

Sailor or Cherry.

MurmuratingStarling · 11/03/2022 17:07

@RobertsRadio

no child wants to be called Moon Shine Minge. 😂😂
LOLLLLL!!! Grin
MurmuratingStarling · 11/03/2022 17:08

Cherry is OK, but Cherry Jean? No ...

Lessthanfour · 11/03/2022 17:08

Sailor Jean is very sweet 🙂

SpaghettiNotCourgetti · 11/03/2022 17:09

Can't stop singing 'Cheer up, mingey Jean' to myself. Oh, Lordy.

I love Azalea and Magnolia and Moon! Azalea Moon is dreamy, I think ☺️

ivfbabymomma1 · 11/03/2022 17:09

@ValkyrieVik

PLEASE DONT NAME YOUR BABY MINJI!!

Apricot Jean come back - all is forgiven!! 😂 😂 😂

😂😂😂
Andacherryonthetop · 11/03/2022 17:10

I like ember and Brontë. Im also a big fan of Elora which I think goes nicely with Jean and is unusual

Donson · 11/03/2022 17:13

Moon is nice.
Cherry is lovely.
Minji is like slang for vagina.
Bae is a hard no.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/03/2022 17:14

@Spaghetti0h

Minji is pronounced more like Meen-Jee so its not as its read so I think it would be fine? Does anyone like Moon?
No, it still isn't fine. People will see it written down and try to pronounce it. Imagine being in the Dr's when she's 13 and the new doctor yelling out "mingey Smith?"

Bae - is lovely but too linked to boyfriend/girlfriend which is awful
Chin-Sun - not in England
Minji - just. no.
Moon - not keen on Moon buy Luna is gorgeous
So-OK - not sure on the pronunciation but I'd say, not in England. People will read So okay.
Sailor - I quite like it. It has a "harper", "scout" vibe
Ember - liked this on the other thread
Cherry - no
Magnolia - cute and could be shortened to Maggie
Bronte - hmm. Fan of the books. Bronwyn?
Sage - biased cos Pink has Willow Sage and I love Pink and nothing she does could be uncool
Venus - no.

2bazookas · 11/03/2022 17:14

Beware of Korean names that have a close equivalent in British slang.

So-0k is very similar to slang sook.

The meaning of sook is toady, brown-noser, whining crybaby. You wouldn't want your child to be called sook at school

Minge is a vulgar slang term for vagina.

Floydthebarber · 11/03/2022 17:14

Moon. It sounds lovely. My dd is at school with a Noon and I always think what a lovely name it is.

WaitinginVain · 11/03/2022 17:15

Cherry Jean is nice.

Not really keen on any of your other choices.

Saisong · 11/03/2022 17:15

I like Cherry, and Bronte is OK.

My Korean friend at work is called Lyudan, which I think is pretty. I think she said it means pomegranate (I could be wrong!) if so it could give you the Apricot/Cherry vibes without being obvious?

DoorLion · 11/03/2022 17:16

I also think you sound like a cool laid back lady with a good sense of humour OP.
For what it’s worth my favourite on your list is Sage, and I also like Sailor.

Dogsinpajamas · 11/03/2022 17:20

Brontë is the best on this list. I ended up really liking Story by the end of your previous thread. Also like Wren or Willow suggested on the other thread.

I think that because you are a young mother your choice will be judged even more than if you were older. It’s wrong but it’s what I found.

PatchworkElmer · 11/03/2022 17:20

I like Sage and Bronte.

Turquoisesea · 11/03/2022 17:23

Azalea is lovely and Azalea Jean works well I think
