love it!

FayCarew · 09/03/2022 14:13

You don't have to put on the red light

YvanEhtNiojYvanEhtNioj · 09/03/2022 14:14

Red lights

PuppyPowerTool · 09/03/2022 14:17

ROXAAAAAAAAAANE you don't have to sell your body to the night.
I wouldn't.

MiniMoouse · 09/03/2022 16:19

Like it but I much prefer Rosanna which is similar and has less of a harsh sound to me and also no association with red lights!

GlitteryGreen · 09/03/2022 16:20

I really like it :) Have always loved Roxie.

Obviously the song associations are there but tbh I don't think they will be for any of the kids around her age.

ISmellBurnings · 09/03/2022 16:45

I just don’t like it, never have. Don’t like the sound.

MissCarolina · 09/03/2022 17:09

I like it.

Titsflyingsouth · 09/03/2022 17:46

Cue Sting: Roxxxxxaaaaaaaaane!!!

Naming a kid after a song about prostitution possibly not the best association. But that's just me...

Abracadabra12345 · 09/03/2022 17:47

I love it

AhhWoof · 09/03/2022 17:51

Prefer Roxanna

PaddleBoardingMomma · 09/03/2022 17:53

Roxy is as lovely without the connotation around to.

I have a friend called jolene, she's very good humoured about it but quite literally every time I've ever been there when she's introduced to someone or someone over hears her name, they always mention the song. Without fail.

HereBdragons · 09/03/2022 18:16

The song is now 44 years old. I think her generation will consider it fairly irrelevant.

How do you feel about the nickname Roxy? Because that will definitely happen if you name your baby Roxanne, unless you preempt it by calling her ´Annie’ or ´anne’

Munchcrip · 09/03/2022 18:22

Roooooxanne, you dont have to put on the red light

Is the first thing that comes to my mind

MintyGreenDream · 09/03/2022 18:29

I like Roxy but not Roxanne

DramaAlpaca · 09/03/2022 18:30

I really wouldn't.

x2boys · 09/03/2022 18:32

It

HistoricMoment · 09/03/2022 18:32

I love it! Don't think many kids of her generation will associate it with a song that will seem ancient to them.

PuppyPowerTool · 09/03/2022 18:34

It might be old, but my kids know the song! We're still singing Beatles tunes...#Meeeeshell, ma belle...#

Topseyt · 09/03/2022 18:37

I like it. The connection to the song by Sting was around 30 years ago now. It won't mean anything much to kids growing up today.

I slightly prefer Roxanna, but do actually like both names. Roxy is nice as a shortening for either.

TabithaTittlemouse · 09/03/2022 18:39

I like it. I know one in her twenties and one who’s about 14.

SignUpNow · 09/03/2022 18:40

I love Roxana. Not so much Roxanne.

Poorlyplants · 09/03/2022 18:44

Doesn’t matter how old the song is young people will still know it as it’s pretty much a classic that will span the generations and future generations.

Hadenoughofthisbullshit · 09/03/2022 18:44

I really like it. Plenty of little girls called ‘la la la la Lola’. Though I did know someone called Eileen, who hated the dexy’s midnight runners song following her around.

OppsUpsSide · 09/03/2022 18:48

Love it
