Too similar??

Violetandpurple · 04/03/2022 21:51

We have an Isabelle (eldest dd)
Have 2 more daughters
And love Annabella for current pregnancy.

Isabelle goes by Belle or Isabelle
Annabella would go by Annie or Annabella

Are they too similar?

Be very honest please!!

Two belle/a names is way too much. It also limits your youngest daughter's options for her name, as if she doesn't like Annie, Belle is taken by her sister.

redrobinswelcome · 04/03/2022 21:55

You can't do it. I know twin girls with exactly the names as those- they go by Bella and Annie and I just can't wrap my head around how their parents thought that wouldn't be confusing. If Isabella was going by Izzy then it's fine, but Bella as a nn is an absolute no go.

DramaAlpaca · 04/03/2022 21:55

Too similar, yes

redrobinswelcome · 04/03/2022 21:56

Just seen I've muddled the order of your daughters and that you already have a Belle. No you can't have Annabelle. So, so confusing and a bit weird.

IggyAce · 04/03/2022 21:57

Too similar, you can’t predict what nn they will go by despite your preference so you could end up with a Belle & Bella. If you like Annie why not just go with that.

Blubells · 04/03/2022 22:08

You're joking right?

TenThousandSpoons · 04/03/2022 22:10

Yes they are too similar.

Mumofgirls2017 · 04/03/2022 22:13

Bit too much for me. How about

Anneliese
Anastasia
Aurelia
Aurora
Alyssa
Abigail

Daisy4569 · 04/03/2022 22:15

Yes too much

MyBottleOfRibena · 04/03/2022 22:30

Why not just called her Annie?

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/03/2022 02:04

Far too similar yes.

Annalisa? Or just Anna

Kanaloa · 05/03/2022 02:11

For me it would be too much Bella. I like a pp suggestion of Anneliese. I think that’s such a lovely name and she could still be Anna/Annie. I also know a young Anastasia which I think is lovely.

Marty13 · 05/03/2022 02:11

I do think they're a bit similar but not prohibitively so. I'm probably also biased because I don't love Annabella as a name.

I do like Anastasia though, as suggested above.

Anyway, if you truly love only this name and none other compare then I'd use it but otherwise if I find another name I like as much or almost as much, then I'd skip Annabella.

babynamelover · 05/03/2022 06:07

Too close.
Im biased but I like Anna.

KindlyKanga · 05/03/2022 06:09

Annabella might decide she's a Bella when she's older. You can't enforce these shortenings

PoniesLove · 05/03/2022 06:12

I don’t think too much. Big believer in using the names you love. They won’t always be linked together like they are when kids.

lemongreentea · 05/03/2022 06:13

yes too similiar.

Alfixnm · 05/03/2022 06:15

Isabelle and Anna is lovely. Or, as mentioned, Isabelle and Annaliese goes nicely.

I think Isabelle and Annabella is very confusing. They will get all permutations of both names which will be highly annoying and confusing for you all.

Rainbowqueeen · 05/03/2022 06:29

Too similar.

Both lovely names though so I’m sure you’ll find something else equally lovely

Celynfour · 05/03/2022 07:09

I think a bit too same-too although lovely names in the their own right .
A friend who’s eldest daughter was Ella , called her next Isabel (Izzy) within six months she was so weary of all the comments about the similarity in their names that she the baby’s name to Isadora .
Cautionary tale !!
What about
Annamay
Annalise
Anastasia
Anna-Beth

What are your other daughters called ?

flushthetoiletagain · 05/03/2022 07:12

Definitely too similar but pretty names.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 05/03/2022 07:16

Too similar for me.

whysoserious123 · 05/03/2022 08:38

Up to you. Other options

Anna
Annaleigh
Anna-lucia
Anna-Claire
Anna-Marie/ Maria
Belleanna / belleann
Bellatrix (trixie)
Bellelina

FeedMeSantiago · 05/03/2022 09:02

I think they're too similar, once Annabella goes to school her friends may choose to call her Belle or Bella and then she has the same nickname as Isabelle. I only know one Annabelle and her nickname is Bella.

Anna, Annalise or Anastasia are all lovely and can be shortened to Annie. Anya is also nice.

FayCarew · 05/03/2022 13:25

Annabella is too long. Annabel is ok but not when there's a sister called Belle.
Annie is lovely as a standalone
