My husband and I have finally settled on the name Sophia, we know it's very common and popular! We just think it's a pretty and classy name.

What are your thoughts on these middle names:

Sophia Adriana
Sophia Liana (pronounced Lee-ah-nuh)
Sophia Eva (pronounced Eh-vah)

Thank you so much!!

I like Sophia Eva best of the three, but would pronounce it Ee-va. If you want Eh-va I'd suggest Sophia Ava

Synchrony · 01/03/2022 11:07

Sophia Eva combines two super popular names and I don't think it flows as well as the others. So not that.

I like Adriana the best.

IVflytrap · 01/03/2022 11:12

I like Adriana the best.

KirstenBlest · 01/03/2022 11:12

I don't really like any of them.
Adriana is too long, Liana is a jungle plant and Eva makes me think of Eva Braun

Qwill · 01/03/2022 11:14

I don’t really like the way they both end with an ah sound, it’s a bit of a mouthful. How about Sophia Eve?

Moonshine160 · 01/03/2022 11:19

I also don’t like how both the first and middle name end with an a. They don’t seem to flow very well. Do you have any other possibles?

fleurpots · 01/03/2022 11:21

I think the repetition of an 'a' ending is too much and a mouthful. What about Sophia Eve, or Sophia Liane?

irishfarmer · 01/03/2022 12:29

Sophia Jane
Sophia Mary
Sophia Rose
Sophia Ivy
Sophia Anne

ISmellBurnings · 01/03/2022 13:41

Eva will get pronounced Ee-va , not Eh-va. I agree with the a sound being to rhymey.

Zillamop · 01/03/2022 13:55

I think Liana fits best.

CatSpeakForDummies · 01/03/2022 15:06

Sophia is beautiful. All three would be nicer without the last "a."

So Sophia Adrienne, Sophia Liane, Sophia Eve... the second a after Sophia is too much.

KirstenBlest · 01/03/2022 15:11

I thought that too @CatSpeakForDummies

They're a bit Soph-EE-a Adree-AH-na
Soph-EE-a Al-AH-na
and Soph-EE-a (r)EE-v

Adrienne is nice, Eve is lovely but Lianne is 1970s

delshell · 01/03/2022 21:34

Sophia Eva will definitely get mispronounced with that pronunciation, but it's a lovely name combination. I would be inclined to spell it Ava if that's the sound you want.

I think the other two names are nice too and I don't really agree with other posters about the repetition of the 'ah' sound - I don't think that's a problem.

My favourite is Adriana.

DramaAlpaca · 01/03/2022 21:37

Liana flows best after Sophia because it doesn't start with a vowel.

user1493494961 · 01/03/2022 22:21

None of them flow particularly well but I think Adriana is best.

blameitonthecaffeine · 01/03/2022 22:53

I really like Sophia Adriana - sounds like an Italian ballerina or concert pianist.

Buttercup54321 · 01/03/2022 23:47

Having A at the end of both names doesn't flow well.
Louise
Elizabeth
Grace
Charlotte
Ottilie
Margot
Helen
Evelyn
Rose
Nicole
Penelope

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/03/2022 15:23

Adriana - it goes best and gives her a more unusual option if she gets fed up of being one of many Sophias

Liana sounds like a semi-made up Disney princess type name.

You won't get the pronunciation of Eva you want, and it doesn't flow as well.
