Baby girls names are all ending in the same sound!!

The first name, middle name and surname all end in the same sound. Is this too much? We don’t want to change the first name / middle name combo because both names are important & I don’t really like any other names to replace them.
For example
Rosalie Emily Rocci
(Totally random name but just to demonstrate)

You could add a second middle name somewhere?

Elysant · 24/02/2022 12:39

I think same ending is fine, if you can't love any other name, then it's not end of the world. Your example actually sounds good, despite same endings and that might not be case with actual name, but who cares about "naming rules" if you both love and agree to the names. I also bet these names are normal names, so I don't see the problem with same ending.

I actually quite like it!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 24/02/2022 12:42

One of my DDs has a middle name and last name that have the same ending and I do think it sounds a bit weird. It’s ok to hear her first name and middle name together or first name and surname but all three is too much alliteration for me. I sucked it up as DH chose the middle name and it’s rarely all are used together but I don’t think I’d deliberately choose three with the same sound.

I think its fine

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/02/2022 21:53

The Rosalie Rocci eg is a bit much because alliteration and the same end sound. One or other should be fine. No one really uses middle names

Helpmedecideaname · 25/02/2022 13:15

Thanks! Maybe this is not as big a deal as I’m thinking it is!

I don't think it's a big deal. If I heard of somebody named "Anna Maria Costa" or something, I wouldn't think anything of it. It just sounds like a standard name to me.

Elspethelf · 25/02/2022 14:19

I empathize because my last name ends in i, and so many girl names end in the same sound. I think it can work though. No one will scrutinize it as much as you do during pregnancy.

pigalow · 25/02/2022 14:30

Agree it's not a big deal. Have only realised reading this that both mine and DD's first and surnames are -ie/-y endings

JaninaDuszejko · 25/02/2022 14:31

Think it's fine, people on here get worked up about all sorts of things, you're not suppose to have alliterative names because that sounds made up, you're not suppose to use the same name as anyone you've ever met ever, you're suppose to only use English spellings and 'ethnic' names like Saoirse or Sholto are completely unacceptable always, you're not suppose to use unisex names etc etc. Use the names you like.

BessAndCress · 25/02/2022 14:53

I think that's fine. And don't worry about the middle name, it will never be said. As long as the first and last names sound OK together, it's all good. Loads of people have a first name and surname ending in the same sound. E.g. anyone whose name ends in an "a" and surname ends in "er".

Thank you!! Feeling a lot better about it!
