Really love this name but unsure on the spelling. Me and dh both prefer the other one. What would you go with?

Ada is traditional spelling. Much prefer.

RuthW · 20/02/2022 16:21

Ada

I would pronounce Ayda as Ida.

FelicityPike · 20/02/2022 16:23

I’ve never seen Ayda before.
It looks made up.

Caspianberg · 20/02/2022 16:27

Depends where you live

Here in Central Europe:

Ada = add-da
Ayda = ay-da

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/02/2022 19:59

Ada

There are a lot of them though - Adela, Ida, Aphra, Aster, Astra - are all more unusual alternatives

Shainago · 20/02/2022 20:00

I prefer Ayda.

I knew an Aida

Beautiful name

Ada is best!

Alrightqueenie · 21/02/2022 05:26

I know an Ada, her full name is Adaline but she goes by Ada. Both are gorgeous names.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 21/02/2022 08:18

100% Ada.

Aïda needs the diaeresis and is pronounced eye-ee-da, like the opera. Aida is the fabric that you use for cross-stitch.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/02/2022 21:53

I agree

There used to be a slimming product called Ayds, and Ayda makes me think of that

mol2mum · 25/02/2022 14:22

Out of the two I prefer Ada but I also really like it spelt Aida x
