You’ve got lovely taste. If I’m being brutally honest, I’d strike off Arcadia as it makes me think of Philip Green.

As for the rest, I’d consider whether popularity matters to you, how the name sounds with your surname and whether you like the likely nicknames.

20viona · 20/02/2022 11:03

Love Lara and elodie. Hate Arcadia.

@cantbelieveitbaby

Isabella Gabriella Clara Lara Annabelle Evangeline Natalia Primrose Rosa Vivienne Arabella Juliette Elodie Roseanna Scarlett Bella Lilliana Oriana Mirabelle Victoria Beatrice Arcadia Lorelei Angelica
Isabella, ok, done to death Gabriela - yeh I like it, prefer spelling Gabriela though Clara - love it, lovely friend from school aged Clara, she's 50 so It's not a flash in the pan name Lara - love it Annabel - love it but seems more elegant without the 'elle' ending. Evangeline - no, too long, the ''vange'' sound in the middle is off-putting Natalia - yeh, ok, 'Nat' is a risk though Primrose - no, awful! I love Rosemary which has similar play on Rose vibes but is so much prettier Vivien - again, fussy spelling could ruin it, just Vivien is lovely. Arabella - no, hard to shorten. ''Ara'' ? Juliet - I'm back with my simplify your spellings manifesto! I love Juliet though Elodie - ok Roseanna - no. Just Rosa Scarlett - ok but a bit harsh. Bella - ok. Pretty. Liliana, no, Lily is better. Liliana too long, frilly, fancy. Oriana, no. Arianne is better Mirabel - ok, also like (and prefer the similar) Maribel Victoria - not a fan Beatrice - like it but it's a very strong name Arcadia - no. Definitely not! Sounds like a row of slot machines Lorelei. No just Laurel is simpler, prettier, clearer, less try-hard Angelica - no sounds like a pudding.

As you can see, I like most of your names but I am taking the toppings off them. Grin Less is more.

JuneOsborne · 20/02/2022 11:14

Have you thought of all the shoretenings and nicknames for your list? Because you have some long names on there and they could be shortened. How do you feel about that?

Izzy, Bella, belle,
Gabby, Ella,
Anna, belle,
Eva, Lina
Vic, Vikki, tor,

Etc

SE13Mummy · 20/02/2022 11:21

I like Clara, Rosa, Primrose, Scarlet and Beatrice from your list. Most of the others feel very frilly to me.

AdaColeman · 20/02/2022 11:37

I’d cross off all the names that include Bella, Belle or any version of them, as they were all hugely popular a couple of years ago. Also the same goes for all the Rose names.

Arcadia is more a country cottage name, and Oriana a ship’s name, than a name for a child.

I’m not keen on Lara Élodie Lorelei.

I like Gabriella Juliette Vivienne and Clara.

I think you need to shorten your list OP, it's a bit overwhelming trying to choose from so many. Isabella - nice name but overly popular, Gabriella - not keen on Gabby as shortened version, Oriana reminds me of a cruise ship, Vivienne ok but don't like Viv, reminds me of the tarty shopkeeper in emmerdale. Mirabelle is a brand of shower. Victoria is nice but not keen on Vicky unless it's for a middle aged woman. Arcadia - no, cruise ship or retail connections. Angelica - would it get shortened to Angie? Favourites from the list are Beatrice, Elodie and Rosa.

LizzieBet14 · 20/02/2022 13:13

I like Gabriella, Isabella & Clara

Luredbyapomegranate · 20/02/2022 14:18

Some nice names..

Favourites
Rosanna (it doesn't have the e) - lovely and usual Rose name.

Vivienne - so vivacious!
Arcadia - it's out there but it's splendid. I'd go for this if you wanted to really go for it.

Juliette (but prefer Juliet) - prefer Julia but it's nice.

Other thoughts (not that you need them!) Serena, Adela, Cassia, Seraphina, Fernanda, Cecilia, Marianne, Christabel, Felicity, Verity, Jasmine

Lovely but..
Gabriella - Gabby is ugly and far too many Ellas about.
Evangeline - It'll be shortened to Eve/Evie and too many about
Isabella - lovely but way way overused
Lara - nice but just blurs with so many similar sounding, similarly popular names.. Lola/Lyra/leah/lena/luna/leila/Lila/Lily
Scarlett - it used to be original, it's had its day
Rosa - lovely but overused
Clara - becoming overused, nice though

OK
Annabelle - prefer Annabel
Natalia - it's a bit 70s but it's OK
Arabella - nice but becoming overused
Beatrice - classic and nice but overused and thus a bit dull
Angelica - nice but she'll end up being Angie or - worse - Ange (Flange!)
Victoria - bit early for a revival, very 70s
Mirabelle - it's pretty but it sounds like a French cheese

Don't like
Elodie - fussy and faddy
Lilliana - fussy and wet
Oriana - fussy and um, oral jokes
Bella - not a name, too many Isabel/las/Annabel/las/Arabellas being called Bella
Lorelei - Wet and weird
Primrose - unspeakably wet, and inexplicably becoming overused

Mumofgirls2017 · 20/02/2022 17:27

I have an Annabelle so I obviously think it's a great name 😂 Rosa is one of my favourite names, so lovely (annoying dh won't go for it!).

Riverlee · 20/02/2022 18:38

Really lovely list.

I agree that Arcadia isn’t good, and Not keen on Bella and Lara.

If I had to pick my favourite three, I’d go for Gabriella, Evangeline and Mirabelle.

Alternate name suggestions

My favourites from your list are:-

Annabelle - love this. Classic, not too popular
Evangeline - Lovely
Natalia - my favourite, with nn Talia
Rosa - beautiful
Vivienne- lovely
Roseanna - lovely with nn Rosie
Lilliana - pretty

BeefSupreme · 22/02/2022 15:49

Lorelei - wet and weird

I suppose a "wet" name quite suits a Siren.

BeefSupreme · 22/02/2022 15:53

My favourites are Liliana and Elodie from your list.

Angelica is quite nice but I just instantly think of the brat from Rugrats.

deadlanguage · 22/02/2022 15:55

Not Mirabelle, that's a character in the most recent Disney film.
I like Annabelle, Clara, Beatrice, Victoria, Arabella and Juliet from your list.
I know an Evangeline who is a bit embarrassed by her name. I don't like Primrose shortening to Prim.

jessilovesmarvel · 22/02/2022 17:29
