Looking for suggestions. we're having trouble finding a girls name we really like. So far we have

Cassie
Brooke
Nancy
Eliza
Rosie
Love love Isis but yeah not using that

Our boys list was a doddle and is compiled of very traditional names like James & Richard etc but it seems we have a different taste for girl. I love Jane but DP doesn't. Based off our list what else would you suggest?

Jane is great. Simple and elegant.

All your other suggestions, apart from Brooke (a surname, which I do not like), are short forms. I know not everyone agrees, but I think it's nicer to have a long name so that the child/later adult can choose. Rosie, Cassie etc are sweet and cutesy for babies, but I'd hate to be an adult without a more dignified alternative.

So
Cassie = Cassandra
Nancy = Anne, Anna, Agnes or even Annabel
Eliza = Elizabeth
Rosie = Rose, Rosa, Rosemary, Rosalind, Rosamund, Rosalie etc etc

Otherwise, if you like James and Richard, what about Jemima or Richenda? Or Margaret, Emma, Susannah, Diana, Alice, Mary, Helena...

I do think Jane is next for revival, so if you can persuade your DP you could be at the vanguard - it's a mid century classic!

Rather than Isis (it's such a shame..) - Lois, Ines or Annis? (would suggest Iris but overused)

Cassie - great as a nn for Cassia/Cassandra. Not as a full name.

Nancy - love it - as is or as nn for an Anna / Annis / Annabel etc

Eliza - I like it but it's a bit overused. Pref as a nn for Elizabeth as it's a bit young.
Rosie - lovely as a nn for Rose/Rosanna etc, but too babyish for a full name - but anyway I'd knock it off because there are so many of them
Brooke - it's too faddy for me! But it's one of the better ones of those types of names (and Brooke Shields is a admirable Hollywood survivor)

Love love Isis but yeah not using that
