Can I go for Tina or is it too old fashioned ?

I think it’s cute, but it reminds me of Bob’s Burgers! I know a little girl named Martina who is called Tina but I think she is Polish and I know some of the Polish children I’ve looked after tend to have names that seem dated here in the UK!

Could you try something more exciting like Valentina and then use tuna as a nickname?

Better to use a longer name on birth certificate and Tina for short - Christina, Martina etc

Tina is swt and can be used on its own. But you could also use a longer official name like Valentina and still use Tina as a nickname.

I prefer Nina, it works better as a standalone name.

I really dislike it sorry, despite knowing a couple of fab ones. it’s really wet and nothingy, names like Christina and Valentina are lovely and could be shortened.

I know this name is more fashionable in Europe but it sounds so heartbreakingly banal to my Irish ear. My French friend was going to call her son Martin. She said it in a nice way MarTAN but I had to tell her no no no no no you cannot send a boy out in to the world with the name Martin.

I have a fondness for Martina because my mother had a cousin, Martina, nn Tina who lived in Clare. I liked her very much. Don't make assumptions about people, their influences, and 'trendiness'. It's quite irritating
