I quite like Ethan. I like the way it sounds. It was looking to be quite popular once upon a time but never quite took off if that makes sense. It's a lovely name for all ages too.
I love Alexander. So Alex yes.
Charlie I'm not too keen on. I don't like Charles either.
I always want to say Charlie Boy !!

WhoppingBigBackside · 02/02/2022 12:39

Ethan was very popular in my circle about 20 years ago, and they seem to be Effun. Alex was a girl's name when I was much younger, but now I know lots of men and boys called Alex.

Favourite is Charlie

StrychnineIntheSandwiches · 02/02/2022 13:50

I like Alex the best.

I quite like Ethan as long as it's not pronounced eefun

Charlie is okay.

sadpapercourtesan · 02/02/2022 13:51

I like Alex and Charlie. I prefer Alex, because Alexander is nicer than Charles and I wouldn't give a nickname as a full name.

I don't like Ethan, it sounds American to me.

Fl0w3ry · 02/02/2022 13:55

I like Ethan the most.
I prefer Alex as the full Alexander.
I’m not fussed on the name Charlie, although I have known a few and they have all been likeable people.

Blubells · 02/02/2022 14:19

All three are overused and a little dull imo. Have you looked at all the names out there on the ONS lists?

Mumofgirls2017 · 02/02/2022 16:31

All fine- I’m not a fan of nn as full names so unless Alexander or Charles I’d opt for Ethan.

Undecided1985 · 02/02/2022 17:00

Not. Charlie as just too many of them around where i live but is all relative to where you are -

FuggyPidding · 02/02/2022 17:04

Alex

StopForAMinute · 02/02/2022 17:10

I like Alex and Charlie. Less keen on Ethan.

DoodleBelle · 02/02/2022 17:19

Alex (Alexander) is my favourite followed by Charlie (Charles) I’m not overly keen on Ethan but it’s not bad.

irishfarmer · 02/02/2022 17:46

I like Ethan, I am bias though, that's my nephews name and he is fabulous

Blossomandbee · 02/02/2022 17:50

I like Ethan and Alex, not keen at all on Charlie.

2girls76 · 02/02/2022 17:52

DD no 1 would have been Charlie Jacob had she been a boy and still love the name now.Probably Ethan next, then Alex but all three names are really nice.

idiotmagnet · 02/02/2022 18:02

Charlie

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2022 18:42

I like Alex best, but I'd want Alexander on the BC.

I don't particularly like Charlie and I really don't like Ethan.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/02/2022 19:09

Alex, long as short for Alexander
Charlie is nice, if short for Charles, been quite overdone though
Ethan - it’s OK, but it’s a bit dated (faddy 10 or 15 years ago)

Xanadu58 · 02/02/2022 19:18

Alex

Hopitihop · 03/02/2022 14:18

I don't like Charlie for an adult, it's babyish.

Ethan is beautiful and very British.

Alex is beautiful and universal.

Blubells · 03/02/2022 15:05

Alex is very unisex - I know more female Alexes than male.

TheGratefulBread · 03/02/2022 15:12

Charlie is my favourite of those.

Alex would be my favourite, if short for Alexander.

I am not keen on Ethan. As a Hebrew speaker, of all the English forms of Hebrew names, Ethan is the one I'm least fond of. I adore the original Hebrew form, Eitan (pronounced ay-tahn), but Ethan just doesn't do it for me.
