Reeva- will be mistaken for River/ spelt wrong
Chloe- bit dated
Cecilia- fine, not for me though
Ava- nice but lots around
Gracie- really dislike
Celeste- love, although there’s a contraceptive pill with similar name
Eliana- ok quite like

KylieCharlene · 02/02/2022 09:08

Cecelia, Ava and Gracie are my favorites although I'd be worried about the popularity of Ava and Gracie so would probably choose Cecelia which is very pretty and suits all ages.
Chloe- very dated.
Eliana- Ellie is v v popular and I think she'd inevitably become one.
Celeste- pill. Ship.
Reeva- seems unfinished. Is it a shortening?

toastofthetown · 02/02/2022 09:29

Reeva - immediately makes me think of Reeva Steenkamp
Chloe - feels dated and bland
Cecilia - lovely
Ava - it’s starting to fall from a massive swing in popularity. Just feels a bit dull and insipid to me
Gracie - I prefer Grace to Gracie (and both are full to me)
Celeste - quite pretty, though I prefer Cecilia
Eliana - again, this sounds bland to me. It’s another El- name and Eliana really typifies the style of girls name which is popular at the moment (lots of vowels, liquid consonants).

KirstenBlest · 02/02/2022 09:33

Reeva - too similar to Eva and River
Chloe - massively popular 20 yrs ago so likely to be dated
Cecilia - not sure
Ava - dislike
Gracie - not keen
Celeste - no
Eliana - too frilly and will just be another Ellie

crumble82 · 02/02/2022 09:38

I really like Cecelia and Ava (in that order). Gracie is pretty too although I’d go for Grace and use Gracie as a nickname. Chloe is ok, I don’t like the others and Reeva would constantly be mistaken for River (I also think of Steenkamp).

Flutterflybutterby · 02/02/2022 09:41

Like Celeste and love Cecilia.

Not keen on the others.

rollercoasterofemotions · 02/02/2022 09:50

Reeva - still too associated with the murder
Chloe - ok
Cecilia - love!
Ava - a bit boring sorry
Gracie - same, and too twee
Celeste - nice
Eliana - ok, will have to deal with misspellings a lot

My favourite is Cecilia! It just bugs me that it is misspelled so often- lots of people spell it 'Cecelia' (I think Cecilia is correct)

20viona · 02/02/2022 09:56

Love reeva

FazedNConfused · 02/02/2022 10:58

I have a Cecilia so slightly biased! We call her Cece.
What about
Celestine
Serena
Selena?

I recently met a baby Ramona which I thought was very cute, nice nn Mona.

hairymorag · 02/02/2022 11:11

Ava and Gracie are very popular, chloe is a bit dated. I do like Reeva not a fan of the others . likely to be called cecil by peers if you call her cecilia. ( because kids can be shitbags)

Lemonweightloss · 02/02/2022 11:19

Love Celeste nn Ceci. Quite like Cecilia. I like Grace as full name.
Not keen on the others.
Oh Eliana is lovely too.

ISmellBurnings · 02/02/2022 11:24

Ava and Grace are just so overused. Generally paired together as well. Gracie is too twee. It’s a name for a toddler but not an adult.

I like Eliana, I went to school with one.

catandbabymama · 02/02/2022 11:29

Reeva - never heard of it and not particularly great
Chloe - in school in the 90s I had lots of Chloes in my classes and they were all horrible so for that reason I wouldn't choose this haha

Cecilia, Ava and Gracie are all very very popular, I'm in a group for mums who had babies last year and there are a number of each of these just in that small group, although I don't mind Cecilia personally

Celeste is probably the best on the list, although as PP pointed out, it's the name of a contraceptive pill
Eliana - don't like it at all, sounds like a twee Disney princess-esque name

organicoatmilk · 02/02/2022 14:59

Reeva - Gorgeous but I prefer it spelt Riva.

Chloe - It's nice but very overdone.

Cecilia - Nice. I like that it can't be shortened to Cece.

Ava - Beautiful but it's so popular right now. Will always be another one in her class.

Gracie - Prefer Grace. It's okay.

Celeste - Out of your list, this would be my least favourite. It's still nice enough though.

Eliana - My favourite off your list! Only thing that would worry me would be it getting shortened to Ellie.

Tootbeep · 02/02/2022 15:41

Reeva - ok, not that keen
Chloe - pretty, bit dated
Cecilia - ok, bit horsey
Ava - lovely, very popular if that bothers you. Also love Ada.
Gracie - dislike
Celeste - ok. How about Seren or Serena?
Eliana - meh

Tootbeep · 02/02/2022 15:43

Also, the Celeste pill has been discontinued, so not really an issue.

DarkCorner · 02/02/2022 15:46

Reeva - not keen but not sure if it is due to her murder or something else.
Chloe - lovely, quite classic, not too many new Chloe's but I know quite a few teens upwards.
Cecilia - lovely, you might want to think of how you'd shorten it.
Ava - nice but quite popular
Gracie - bit too cutesy for me, I prefer Grace and you could use Gracie as a nickname
Celeste - beautiful
Eliana - not keen

cptartapp · 02/02/2022 16:00

Reeva - gruesome murder
Chloe - dated
Cecilia - bit of a mouthful and might get 'sissy'
Ava- God not more of this name. Dull dull dull.
Gracie - as above, plus infantile.
Celeste - at a push
Eliana - sounds made up, weak

PoleFairy · 02/02/2022 16:44

To be totally honest:
Reeva - dont like, it's too linked to Reeva Steenkamp in my head now
Chloe - I really dont like popular names so this is too popular for me
Cecilia - love and LOVE Cece or Celia as potential nickname
Ava - too popular
Gracie - too popular
Celeste - I like
Eliana - too popular

alexdgr8 · 02/02/2022 16:46

Cecilia is the only proper name that i recognise from that list.
the others sounds faddy, insubstantial, here today and gone tomorrow, soon to be dated, flibberty.

GiantSpider · 02/02/2022 16:48

My favourite is Chloe - gorgeous. I also like Cecilia and Celeste. Least favourites are Reeva and Ava.

TallulahHula · 02/02/2022 16:51

Reeva- like a lot but does have the Steenkamp association.

Chloe- dated. Not keen.

Cecilia- really like CeCe as a nn but not sure about Cecilia. Reminds me of a middle aged upper class lady in a large country estate. Horse rider name.

Ava- very pretty but also very popular.

Gracie - similar to Ava, pretty but common. Perhaps a little twee.

Celeste - not a fan, sounds a little harsh. Reminds me of medication for some reason.

Eliana - not to my taste but it's sweet and unusual. Would likely be shortened to Ellie though.

I think my favourites from your list are Reeva and Ava.

ladycarlotta · 02/02/2022 16:56

I like Reeva and Celeste best. I agree with PP's suggestion of going with the Riva spelling instead, takes it visually further from Steenkamp and closer to the Hebrew.

StopForAMinute · 02/02/2022 17:11

My favourites from your list are Celeste and Eliana.

TempsPerdu · 02/02/2022 17:17

Reeva - pretty sound but still very much tied to Reeva Steenkamp, especially with this spelling. Riva is better.
Chloe - OK. Bit bland and feels dated, but I’m still meeting a fair few babies with the name so clearly still popular.
Cecilia - too frilly and lisps my for my taste. I picture a pale, sickly Victorian girl who faints a lot!
Ava - massively overdone
Gracie - really dislike this name. Not entirely sure why - maybe because it rhymes with Tracey? Gracie Fiekds? Something about it seems a bit downmarket. I don’t think Grace needs embellishment anyway.
Celeste - quite nice.
Eliana - too girly and vowel heavy

No particular favourites here for me, but I think it would have to be between Riva (this spelling) or Celeste.
