What do people think of Romeo?

If you have Italian heritage, then possibly. Otherwise, no

SallyWD · 30/01/2022 22:21

I don't like it.

WeasilyPleased · 30/01/2022 22:24

A bit silly tbh.

toastofthetown · 30/01/2022 22:49

I quite like in a vacuum but personally wouldn’t use it. It’s rising in popularity though; there were almost 200 baby Romeos born in 2020 in England and Wales. Roman and Rowan are very popular, as are names ending in O so it’s definitely usable.

TabithaHazel · 31/01/2022 08:52

It's one of those names where the kid would need to have quite a big outgoing personality to pull it off.

emmathedilemma · 31/01/2022 14:19

Awful

thunderandsunshine01 · 31/01/2022 14:20

A bit chavvy IMO

BooksAndHooks · 31/01/2022 14:22

Not a name I’d choose. Very much seen as a “naughty boy” name.

StylishMummy · 31/01/2022 14:23

Tacky and chavvy - don't.

Kanaloa · 31/01/2022 14:33

It wouldn’t be for me. Roman is nice, Romeo is very very linked to Romeo & Juliet which I don’t think is a particularly good thing. Maybe you could use Roman but call him Romy/Romeo for a nickname at home?

It’s a shame because it has a very nice sound, but I just think of play really.

KirstenBlest · 31/01/2022 14:41

It's better than Roman but that's not saying much

RestingStitchFace · 31/01/2022 19:02

He will hate you when he starts his GCSE English.....

ReadySteadyTwins · 31/01/2022 19:05

Don't call him Romeo. Poor boy. May as well call him Lothario.

Roman is much better. Reuben better still.

DramaAlpaca · 31/01/2022 19:05

No, not good.

Luredbyapomegranate · 31/01/2022 22:42

NO

Don’t be mean.

curlymacv · 31/01/2022 22:45

I really like Romeo. However I think in the UK it's pretty unusable

Buttercup54321 · 02/02/2022 21:49

Just terrible
