Girls name Adelyn

I’m having a baby girl very soon and I’ve decided to name her Adelyn/Addelyn. I don’t like the spelling Adeline, my brain reads it as “ad-a-line” and I want the “ad-a-Lin” pronunciation. I prefer the Addelyn/Adelyn spellings and I think they look more modern. I’ve also seen the spelling Adalyn, but I don’t like it as much and I think it may get shortened to Ada which I don’t like. I have a DD that is called Elliana and we call her Ellie for short, and I love that she has the option have an uncommon name or she can go by the more common Ellie. We will be calling Addelyn/Adelyn Addie for short, so she also has the option to be known by her first name which is unusual or she can go by Addie. Which spelling should I use? Adelyn or Addelyn?

Of the two, the single d

KirstenBlest · 31/01/2022 14:43

I don't like it at all

Thedogscollar · 31/01/2022 16:48

Adelyn is pretty but do not like the nn Addie.

Honey2 · 31/01/2022 19:39

Single d 👍

Thethingswedoforlove · 31/01/2022 19:42

Just one d is perfect

Adelyn is the better spelling.

You will find that those of a certain generation will spell it Adeline, due to the tv programme, Bread.

Adelyn is beautiful. Could be Dela for short?
