Whats your Opinion?
The pronounciation we like is e- leen.
Eline like Celine.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Like you missed the a, and then when I read the pronunciation made me think of windoleen. Sorry

onesweetlife · 29/01/2022 13:49

To me it looks like a misspelling of another name, maybe Elise or Elaine.

DoucheCanoe · 29/01/2022 13:56

It's not misspelled, it's Dutch 🙄

I think it's lovely.

Finallygotme · 29/01/2022 13:59

@DoucheCanoe

It's not misspelled, it's Dutch 🙄

I think it's lovely.

No need for the Confused irl I'd just say oh what a lovely name but if someone asks for opinions on an anonymous website the surely they want people's real opinions? Funnily enough I don't know all names in all languages and it isn't obvious from the name that it is Dutch.
babyjellyfish · 29/01/2022 14:09

I think it's a nice name but it will be misspelled and mispronounced a lot so you will need to be ready to correct people.

MinglingFlamingo · 29/01/2022 14:17

I like Eline but it doesn't look complete somehow. Like Elina or Seline??

Spottyzip · 29/01/2022 14:33

I like it, but I think it depends on your background?

Where will the child be from? As it’s unusual enough to get a lot of questions.

I see it more as a continental name not a “British classic”.
So depends what feel you’re going for

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/01/2022 10:12

I think people will say it Eh-leen alot

Enko · 30/01/2022 10:18

I dont mind it. People get used to pronunciations so it wouldn't worry me.

RuthW · 30/01/2022 10:32

Ok of you don't mind people saying e-line instead of e-leen

PrivateParty · 30/01/2022 20:57

Just sounds like you're saying Elaine in a weird way?

Blubells · 31/01/2022 19:26

I think people will say it Eh-leen a lot

That's how it's pronounced

I like it!
