Isaac or Rory
Violet or Rose

Simple surname.
Is Vi an inevitable nickname for Violet? We love the name but not keen on Vi at all.

I love all four of these names. Rose is my cats name!
You could have Lettie as nn for Violet?

Fl0w3ry · 29/01/2022 13:28

I love all of your name choices. But I think I would pick Rory and Violet.

SamMil · 29/01/2022 13:32

Rory or Violet.

I was thinking Lettie as a nickname for Violet too Smile

Skeumorph · 29/01/2022 13:35

Rory and Rose or Rosa.

Yes a friend regrets Violet as she’s ended up as Vi ☹️

yourestandingonmyneck · 29/01/2022 13:38

Violet and Rose are both good. We know a little Violet, she gets called both Vi and Lottie.

Definitely Rory over Isaac.

Isaac and Violet. I know a little Violet and she's sometimes called Letty.

Misspacorabanne · 29/01/2022 13:47

Rory and violet!

stopringingme · 29/01/2022 14:41

Violet/ Lettie
Rory

PatterPaws · 29/01/2022 14:43

Issac and Rose

wingsofabird · 29/01/2022 14:50

Violet is lovely

Rory has boomed in popularity and feels really trendy. Isaac more classic and much nicer.

Check the dark greener website which shows the ONS official statistics if you want to see how Rory has boomed in England and Wales

Isaac is actually declining in popularity so I wouldn't pick Rory just because you think it's lower in the charts. In the next couple of years Rory will overtake Isaac if you look at the way the graphs are going

Yes had considered both Lettie and Lottie as nn's which we like. The Vi just really puts me off an otherwise beautiful name!

Rose and Isaac
I know no Isaacs so don't think of it as a popular name. I know several Violets and Rorys though.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 29/01/2022 20:59

Rose is far more classic (and not super popular as a first name), so would definitely be my preference over trendier retro Violet (I'm not keen on Vi either).

Equally Isaac seems slightly more classic/traditional (unless in Scotland where Rory may be) so is more my taste - Rory seems to be having more of a "moment" in England and Wales.

Happenchance · 29/01/2022 22:12

Isaac and Rose, though I prefer Violetta to both Rose and Violet. Violet is too similar to violent for my liking.

Flutterflybutterby · 30/01/2022 14:44

Isaac and Rose

MolkosTeenageAngst · 30/01/2022 14:45

Rory
Rose

FayCarew · 30/01/2022 18:17

Isaac and Violet.

Rory is ok but too many Rs and there are lots of R names popular right now.

Rose is so overused as a middle name and Rosie is very popular

Gardeningcreature · 30/01/2022 19:27

Definitely Rose.
Probably Isaac rather than Rory. I don't think it's common either, at !easy not where I live.

MangoLipstick · 30/01/2022 19:34

Issac and Violet

I know a Violet and she gets called Vivi as a nickname, which is cute.

I went to school with an Isaac and he preferred to be called Zac, so that might become a nickname.

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/01/2022 21:59

Issac and Rose
I love Rory but it’s super popular right now.
Violet and Rose both v popular, but Rose much more of a classic - you could go for Rosanna if you want it to stand out a bit more

WaitinginVain · 30/01/2022 22:31

Rory and Rose.

Kitkat151 · 30/01/2022 22:35

Isaac and Violet
Rorys are ten a penny where I live In NW ( under 5s anyway) far too common and dating
Rose is a bit boring

whattodo2019 · 30/01/2022 22:56

Rory and Rose
Absolute hate Violet

Honey2 · 31/01/2022 19:48

I prefer Isaac - it is quite popular but I’d suggest Rory is becoming equally popular (just a few years behind)

I prefer Rose to Violet. I do this it’s likely to be shortened to Vi

Buttercup54321 · 02/02/2022 21:51
