Can you tell me your thoughts on the name Fergus?

To me its an old uncles name…

It's a perfectly reasonable name. Personally I don't like it, but I have a thing about names ending in "gus" (Angus, Fergus, also Marcus). It makes me think of fungus and mucus.

Reminds me of fungus unfortunately but I do know a lovely toddler Fergus which is a good association

He might not like any name you pick 😂 fergus is lovely and underused.

Very true @Sexnotgender I almost mean if he could be teased for it in anyway (fungus associations)
Is Freddie any better?

Don't choose Freddie if you prefer Fergus. There's millions of Freddie's out there

I have a Fergus in my family and he is a horrid, spiteful man so the name will never sit well with me.

If you want something similar then Fergal is similar and gets rid of the mucus/fungus connotations too.

Get feedback for anything you hadn’t thought of, but ANY name you like will have people who love it, hate it or are indifferent. You can’t name a child by committee. Or predict how your child will feel about it.
