Dominic is a very good name, go for it.

I quite like it but dislike the nickname Dom. Also I wouldn’t worry about a Dominic Cummings connection as mentioned above. People will forget him him soon and the kids generation won’t know him.

I have a Dominic so, I like it! He only gets ‘Dom’ very occasionally by friends, he’s a ‘Dominic’ so far (fingers crossed!)

Yeah as pp said don’t worry about Dominic Cummings, no one will be thinking of him in a few years.

I love it, but then it's DS1s name so Im biased!
On the rare occasion he gets called Dom we correct them.

I'm not terribly keen on it, maybe because it sounds a bit formal. I prefer biblical names like Gabriel and Adam. But it's a classic name, and I can't think of a reason why you shouldn't go for it.
