Hello

I have settled (or so I think) on Henry as a first name but I'd like to include two family names as middle names. I'm not sure how I feel about the two middle names as everyone I know only has one, so I'm not sure whether to drop one.

The issue I have is that both options are important people who I'd like to honour, one name I love but the other name is so important.

Middle names are Alan and James.... surname is a popular 5 letter surname too. I'm worried that all of the names are 4-5 letters each and what order to put them.

Any advice gratefully appreciated :)

I love Henry and I think it works as Henry Alan James or Henry James Alan
If the names mean a lot to you just go for it, middle names aren’t used much anyway so it’s not going to have a lot of impact either way.
I know a few people with 2 middle names and it’s never caused them an issue.

Henry Alan James works well.

I’d avoid Henry James Alan unless you really like the author.

Ah footnote, I hadn't considered that! Thank you

Yes. Henry Alan James is perfect.

I have 2 middle names, so does hubby and so do both our boys. Wouldn't worry about that

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/01/2022 19:01

I’d go Henry Alan James

Mine have two middle names, I like it.

My little one has 2 middle names and a rather long first name but it meant a lot to us to have the 2 family names in there so we went with it he will hardly ever have to use his full name so won't bother him anyway xx

I agree with others, Henry Alan James. It's a fine name.

wingsofabird · 29/01/2022 10:07

2 middle names is completely fine.
3 is maybe too much

Henry Alan James sounds great.

Fivebeanchilli · 29/01/2022 10:29

Henry Alan James sounds perfect.
I think Henry James Alan sounds ok but Henry and James together sounds too much like it's an homage to the author.
