Zara or Lara

If you had to pick between these which would you go for ?

Lara. I do like Zara too but Lara just feels that touch more classic to me (I'm not sure why since it wasn't widely used till the 60's). Lara also has the benefit of two very different images - the kick ass/cool video game heroine or the softer romantic book/film imagery of Dr Zhivago (and lovely music of "Lara's Theme") . Lara also benefits from being more widely used internationally.

Lara 100%. Beautiful, elegant, timeless, plus I am a huge fan of Dr. Zhivago, it's one of my favourite films.

I think they’re both nice but I’d go with Lara.

Dr Zhivago is so depressing. Julie Christie is gorgeous in it though.

Lara - it’s overused (though Zara is coming up), but it’s lovely, very musical. Zara is harder and reminds me of the shop.

I don’t think the shop is a particular issue. The one Zara I know loved wearing Zara clothes and using the bags in her 20s. It’s a fairly inoffensive mid range shop. It’s not like calling her Fat Face or White Stuff or Primark or singeing.

@Olga03 I think Mara is actually a name on its own right, I know a little Mara! Was the first I'd heard of it, thought it was lovely.

OP, I'd go Zara top, then Mara, then Lara. They're all lovely though. Noticed you can't use Cara... could you use Cora? Similar vibe, and nice in Ireland.

Zara is a Arabic girl's name and means flower, I'm not sure what Lara means.

No, it's mostly Lara.

I think I prefer Lara to Zara OP (just because I know a lovely Lara, and because of the shops). Love Cora too, but not Cara so much for some reason ( and I mix it up with the Irish cara - pronounced corra - anyway). Fiadh is also beautiful, though I know you're worried about its popularity.
